Reviews
Record books give you figures...This isn't just a fun book or a trip down memory lane, as wonderful as the journey becomes. It's a history book about a team in a league that is far greater than the sum of its eight or nine parts, a league that has survived more perils than Pauline and will again as long as we're proud enough to give it the chance.-Jim Taylor, Sports Journalist
A great read! Anyone who has followed the B.C. Lions is going to love this book. An accurate and enjoyable snapshot of the Lions from the days of Empire Stadium to B.C. Place, from Grey Cup victories to the dog house.
-Lui Passaglia, B.C. Lions #5
For CFL fans new or old, Thrown to the Lions is a must read! For anyone who wants to get into the Lions' den, this book is for you!
-Lowell Ulrich, Sports Journalist
...But there are other, more obscure, gridiron warriors Wirtanen is focusing on. The names Chuck Dubuque, Roger Power and Bob Friend will never appear in the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame, but they are in Wirtanen's book.
-Don Taylor, Sports Journalist
