About the Author
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones (October 1, 1888 - March 5, 1980), affectionately referred to as the Dean of American Astrologers, was the originator of the Sabian symbols and founder of the Sabian Assembly. He was the author of eleven major textbooks on astrology and four other books, including the classic work, Occult Philosophy. Dr. Jones' astrological career began in 1913 and spanned nearly 70 years. During his lifetime, he earned several degrees, including a Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University. Although he was best known by the public for his contributions to the field of astrology, he was also an ordained Presbyterian minister, a qualified psychologist and a recognized authority on occult lore.
