About the Book

Inside these pages you will find new nursery rhymes with illustrations. Each one is written to help children see the wonders of our world. Your child can reach for the stars in Would You Like To Fly? They can explore the magic of the sea in The Ocean Blue.

They can read about a little bug named Billy or a tiny Leprechaun. When we read with a child we open a doorway to many exciting adventures that we can share.

About the Author

"Living in southwest Oklahoma, it seems like life travels at a slower pace. You can take the time to listen to a bird singing in the woods, or watch a hawk circling overhead. I like being able to write down the things I remember from my own childhood, and the things I see in everyday life. I enjoy making children smile when they read about a dancing bear or Freddie the frog.

I have been married to my husband Jim for 36 years. We have a daughter Laura, and a son, Dean. We also have a granddaughter, Audrey. Laura does a lot of my illustrations for me, and we enjoy working together. We are currently working on volume II of Nana's Nursery Rhymes. We hope that these little poems and stories bring a smile or two your way, and help us as adults to remember the wonders of our childhood."

DREAMS

What do you dream of, when you go to bed?
Do you dream of colors, like blue and red?

Do you dream of animals, in a far away land?
Or do you dream of castles, that are quite grand?

Do you dream of cowboys, and covered wagons?
Or do you dream about a fire-breathing dragon?

Do you ever dream about a beatiful unicorn,
that has a white mane and a pretty silver horn?

Do you dream about the sun, as it's going down?
Or do you dream of a circus, and a funny clown?

Do you dream of rainy days, or of fluffy clouds?
Or do you dream of heroes, that are really proud?

Do you ever dream of rainbows, way up high?
Or do you dream of stars, in the night sky?

Now go to sleep. You can dream a dream, or two.
If you are lucky, they just might come true.

BLOWING BUBBLES

I like to blow bubbles, everyday.
I like to watch, as they float away.

Some are big, and some are small,
But I always try to catch them all.

They float in the air, so very high.
They look like they will touch the sky.

I like to blow bubbles, even while I play.
Then I watch them, as they float away.

RICKY RACCOON

Ricky Raccoon, rides on
roller skates.
He has to go fast, so he
won't be late.

There are lot of things,
He has to do.
Like go to the store and
The movies, too.

Ricky rides fast, with the
Wind in his hair.
He wants to be the first
One there.
