About the Book

Believe It When You Pray is a book about God, faith, family, prayers, cancer and healing. While to some, religion may seem old-fashioned and out-of-date and God as accessable as the stars, for me, it was the only way I could have possibly gotten through a very difficult three years.
This book is not for the faint of heart - after you read it, there is a very good chance that you will look for God. You might find yourself remembering long-forgotten prayers and wondering what has changed at mass. Strangers will look familiar and angels will wrap you gently in their wings. Peace will fill your heart and touch your soul. You will be as a child of the light.

Always believe it when you pray.

Comments about the book

Believe it When You Pray will do much more than just make you laugh, it will make you think. Mixed in with the antics of the family are Zaversnik's own life experiences and how God was able to get her through them. The absolute love and power of God and the miracles He was doing in her life became her main inspiration to write the book. She realized that everything was happening for a reason and felt that her book was supposed to be written. As a result, Zaversnik has found that the spiritual reward has been a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God.
Take it from Zaversnik, everyone has a story, everyone has thoughts and feelings, and everyone has a dream. Look around and you will be inspired.

Excerpt

I'm 47 and I finally get it. It hit me one day and I was so shocked, it took my breath away for a moment. All that we are and all that we do is not some random wanderings - it all makes sense eventually. Two of my favorite phrases are "Some day we'll look back on this and laugh like hell" and "This is all happening for a reason."
Whether it's a good thing, like falling in love, or a bad thing, like cancer, we all need an explanation for it and why is it happening to us.
No one really questions the good thing except to hope that it lasts forever. Every one questions the bad thing because it's uncomfortable and it's scary.
But bad and good, happy and sad are such a part of our everyday lives that sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two and everyone defines the good and bad differently.
What I finally get is that the good and the bad are what we are - what makes us the person we are. God has a plan for each one of us. Life has many lessons and while not always pleasant or happy, the are lessons that have to be experienced.
We are not just floating around in some kind of comic soup. No action is insignificant or a waste of time. We are all God' children and He does influence everything - thoughts, actions and feelings. His love in unconditional unending and always forgiving. The message is true and strong and I finally get it.
