About the Author

This book reflects on the thoughts of the person named "RED", it may seem somewhat pompous to the reader for a person to write a book about themselves. To the contrary, the book is not about the life of Red, it is in essence the thoughts and inner thoughts of the person called "Red".

Not exactly a success in life at this writing, as some would define success, nor a total failure, as some would define failure. At this point in life, Red is between success and failure. That in itself is the main reason for this book at this writing, written by people who have in essence become successful in their lives and have written a book about it. I feel there is a need for a book such as this one from a person who has not reached his potential in life but is on the correct road for attaining his goals and finding in himself the purpose for his living.

It is said that 95% of the people in this country have a negative attitude about themselves, and it is this 95% (of which I was one) that I think I can effectively relate to having been one of them for some 34 years, I am 45 years old. I do not count the first 11 years of my life for those were my most informative years over which we literally have no control. We will relate to thses years in this book as the uncontrollable years. When I say uncontrollable , I am not referring to behavior, but more to forced attitude as taught to us by our ever-loving parents, relatives,

Sample Excerpts

Judgment by Education

What do you suppose possessed the first person in history to write a book, and just what were his qualifications to do so? Why is it you people think in order to write intelligently you must possess special qualifications such as college degrees or other specialized training, and if this training is not present in the beginning of the ook you think they could not possi le know of what they are speaking about, you give no authority to what ever they say and actually that is the way it should be you should not give anything that is written authority over your thoughts, however, in doing so you generally withhold authority for the wrong reasons, you become judgmental of someone rather evaluating what he says, you judge the person not the writing, did it ever occur to you that someone without specialized education may possess a ilities and knowledge far beyond that of specialized training....

Teachers

Teacher, don't be so proud of yourself for having given a student a failing grade in the subject you claim to teach, for if the student received an "F" from you, then, my friend, you have given yourself an "F" as a teacher. If you were a teacher, as you claim to be, I would ask why have you failed to teach? When you have labeled a student too slow, too dum or have placed any other label on him, you have just also labeled yourself too slow, too dumb, etc. to teach. When you finally come to an understanding that you are incapable of teaching anyone anything, and at best, all you can hope for is to become an interesting enough person to create a curiosity in a student to want to be self motivated to learn, you have reached a level in your profession that very few have reached.

If it were possible for me to be upset, it surely would be from any teacher who would say that a student failed the subject being taught, for it is not possible for anyone to fail any subject, your self imposed rules for what you consider a student should learn are exactly that, self imposed rules.....

Natural Resources

We preoccupy ourselves with the thought of natural resources; we have for countless centuries overlooked the most powerful resource we possess, literally untapped and undiscovered, definitely misunderstood, the resource of the human mind. We have come from caveman to what we perceive to be civilized man. Most of the advancements of civilized man have come in the external forms: trains, airplanes, rockets, atomic power, etc. We have marveled at our advancements never stopping to realize the tool we used to make these external advancements, without the mind, none of these minor advancements would have een possible. I say minor ecause technically they are, in comparison to the mind that perceived these advancements. We have also reached the point that our own external advancements have outgrown us, as a human race. In comparison to the research being done to advance technology, there is practically no research being done on the mind that made these technical advancements. Our own mind is still one of the most unexplored frontiers left to man, even though he has been told a out his capabilities. Is man advancing past his capability to understand what he has made technically? Has he grown enough mentally to handle the technical advancements he's made? Now, of course, most of you think he has, but if that were the case why, I ask, has he continued to use all these technical advancements for his inevitable annihilation? Every advancement, he has made has in one-way or other been used to destroy his own kind that does not sound as if he has kept up mentally. He is technically outgrowing himself.

Is it possible to bridge the gap in this technical and mental unbalance? I don't really know; I would like to believe, for the sake of mankind, that it is still possible, but for all the evidence to the contrary, I have my doubts. The fact that you're reading this book is in favor of survival, though that alone is not enough, unless it has triggered you to think about what you have read; then basically it has served no functional purpose in your life and you will remain the same indifferent person you were when you started reading it. You will sit back on your ass, until man finally accomplishes his own demise....

....Basically what has happened in our society is you have given away the power to control your own destiny, by allowing other individuals who possess money to control the way you think, you give them power by means of their accumulation of paper and ink, you think because of their purchasing power of material goods they are greater than you. I would have to ask would it be possible for them to purchase food if the farmer did not grow it, could they purchase an automobile if the factory worker did not make them, could a doctor perform surgery if someone did not build the hospital or develop the surgical equipment they use, you see my friend it goes on and on, not one person which possesses great wealth as you consider it could survive without the services you provide, yet you consider their ability to accumulate paper and ink more valuable than you. The truth, if it were known, would be fewer of these people could survive without you than you without them....

Your Secret Place

Make an attempt to understand just what Utopia is; I believe a statement from the Bible may help you clarify just what it is. He that dwells in the secret place of the most high abides in the shadow of the almighty, the only true secret place you may abide in is in the shadow of your own mind, for no one may enter this place but you. You may share this place with others by expressing your thoughts, your dreams your desires, even then they may not enter, it is a place that was reserved for you alone, the place you go within yourself to find the answers to life itself. Utopia, or your Garden of Eden, if you prefer, the place where the almighty dwells within you....
