About the Book
Sometimes, a real life story comes along that is so unique, so wonderful that someone must tell the story as it really happened.
This is a story of a woman that has such a unique gift! It has been suspect for more than thirty years ...I suspected she had the special gift all our married life! She would just look at our family pet, and tell me it was sick and we must take it to the vet. Or, she could tell when these animals are happy, sad or hungry. In the past, I just put it off as her wonderful love of animals. Then one day my youngest son bought my wife a special GIFT...a baby horse!
This horse isn't any horse! It is a special horse, a horse that will open up your eyes to The wonderful World of Magic. If you still believe that Fairy Tales are real! You just have to read this book!
About the Author
Bob Gossard was raised as a stepson of William Kolosky in a good home and with family values that would follow him throughout his lifetime. At 18, after graduating from high school, he joined the Navy, got married and, with his wife of 35 years raised two sons and a daughter, served 22 years in the Navy and retired as a 60% disabled Service Veteran. He has published numerous local newspaper articles in his local Small-town Newspaper. He is also an advocate for Veteran's Rights, and aids and assists those that may need his help. Although he is housebound with some medical problems, his philosophy in life is "No matter what things appear to be, good can come from any avenue; as we all seek to achieve the American dream we will always find a helping hand, because angels do live among us!"
Sample Excerpts
1. This filly started out of the trailer bucking, and whinnying; like a horse on the rodeo circuit. Jamie was hanging onto the lead rope for dear life, and as this young filly hit the solid ground; he was being dragged all over the parking lot of Big Jake's...Circle-Bar-A-Horse Ranch. This is going to be a special horse! Jake said, as soon as he saw the two men...unload the baby horse from the horse trailer. She is going to be a fine looking Paint; if she manages to grow up, and if, Jamie can get her under control,...laughed, Jake. Give him a hand, said Jake, looking at my son, still laughing himself silly. Bobby started to run beside Jamie;...but this little filly was picking up speed!... Finally!... Bobby was able to grab the rope, and helped slow the baby horse down, and Jamie and this young filly finally came to a halt.
Finally, the two men were able to get her completely under control and then lead her to the barn and pasture area. All alone, in a strange place, this filly felt like an out-cast; ... no Momma; ...no Papa, and a strange group of horses in the pasture. She was alone and didn't know what to do. She ran back and forth along the fence. calling for her mother. But no one answered!
2. During this time, Gus had developed into one of the head geldings of the north pasture under the watchful eye of Big Jake Becker, owner and operator; of the Circle-Bar-A-Horse Ranch. Jake was a big man, with premature gray hair; no...let us say white hair. He was stocky in built; with a Santa Claus belly, and a laugh to match. A man who had traded horses for all his adult life. With his silver hair and twinkling blue eyes, and Santa Claus belly; local people knew him as a horse trader with little or no scruples when it came to trading horses. Surprisingly, over all, this man Jake had a good heart, ... so the story is told. Jake, what is going to happen to this new filly you just bought in?...Bobby asked...Well, Jake said, as he cupped his chin, as if he was thinking the problem over, then said! I intend to sell her as soon as possible. Why? Asked Bobby. Cause she need some love and care; since her Mother is no longer with us, replied, Big Jake.
3. In the mean time,.. Back at the ranch,.. Big Jake and his cronies were laughing and making bets!.. How long will this filly live? said Jake. Some of Jake's friends, even said Emma wouldn't live through the winter. .. Some even made the statement that Emma Would be dead by Christmas! Well, this was the wrong thing to say, because they have never met my wife. They unknowingly, underestimated her ability to make animals survive in the most trying situations. .. Besides! After living with her for thirty some years I've seen her talk to the animals, and I think she gets answers back. They can laugh all they want! ... They just don't know that they have a Tiger by the tail! She will have the last laugh!
