About the Book
The study of body systems has always been an important, predominant part of medical terminology. In recent years, however, technological develpments have contributed to a greatly extended medical vocabulary. Because many of these terms are unfamiliar and sometimes intimidating, they present a challenge to many readers.
It is important to remember that appropriate definition, pronunciation and spelling minimize errors and facilitate comprehension and communication. Since the instructor always has the privilege of selecting items appropriate for a specific class situation, this text will accomodate every level of student from high school to college. It will also accommodate the highly motivated student who is willing to confront the challenge of self-testing using four tests of fifty items each. Meanwhile, outstanding illustrations provide a fascinating dimension to the style and content of the text. Hopefully, all readers will find this book interesting, informative and useful - an outstanding contribution to the intriguing world of health care.
