About the Book

The three short stories represent a man's coming of age on a mid-western farm. One is based upon his youth when he could still see.

After a mistaken identity attack and the events of September 11, 2001, he wrote two stories of the experiences of injury and blindness.

Dr. Stekelenburg credits his faith in Jesus Christ and prayer for his continuing recovery. He realizes that this book was only accomplished due to the efforts of his wife, Sandra, the co-author.

About the Authors

Sandra retired from the Florida Public Education System in 2000. They now reside in Pine Mountain, Georgia and hope to witness for Christ through their books.

Excerpt from The Burton Murder

Now my eyes drift from the uphill driveway back to Carrie Jackson. She is returning to her car, which is parked at the one gas pump in front of the store. I am sickened that my heroine is in trouble on my account. Carrie Jackson has been arrested solely on hear say eveidence that she robbed and killed Mr. Franklin.

Excerpt from 1898, A Cattle Drive

Tom Lee spoke out; "We're cutting your herd". "no, I don't think so," Derrick replied. Tom Lee again spoke. "You can't stop all of us by yourself."

Gavin made a snap decision to "dust" them. He snapped the large gun to his shoulder and fired at the ground in front of the man who was on the lead horse. The spraying sand sprayed the front three horses of the rustlers.

Excerpt from The 911 Detective Agency, Inc.

Listening to the news on the television he learned of the 9-11-01 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D. C. His mind was reeling from all that had apparently happened since the day he was clubbed in the head on the airplane.

Summer was heated, mad and warming to her subject. "Now you've got the pad and the gun officer, so write me a ticket or shoot me, but my fiance' is arriving at Atlanta's Hartsfield now!"
