Sample Excerpts

The reality of it all hasn't even begun yet. As I flashback on my life, I feel my heart race and my vision begins to go blurry. My body stiffens up, I can't talk and I'm scared as hell. The oceans rose, the volcanoes erupted and the world as we know is history.

Ten years earlier: The phone rang at four o'clock in the morning. I picked up the phone and heard a woman breathing. She told me that I see things in a different perspective. I asked her who she was but she told me that the messenger wasn't important."Gunther Reilly, you've seen existence as we know it coming to its end." I asked her "How do you know my name?" I mean, sure everyone has bad nightmares every now and then but this woman was talking to me like we were long lost friends. "You have to promise me one thing Gunther." "I swear." I added, "No, your promise is good enough. No death will come across anyone who is willing to seek the knowledge I am going to unleash." You can't kill those who are already mentally flat lined. She wanted me to meet her for breakfast the next morning and I gladly accepted. The conversation wasn't exactly a love at first sight type deal, but she sounded almost desperate. "You must prepare your loved ones and yourself for the crisis this world is getting ready to undertake.""Alright just stop it!" I sharply replied, "What the hell are you talking about? A crisis?" She told me that she knew it would sound crazy. Armagghedon wouldn't be about good vs. evil. Instead, the world will destroy itself. The waters will rise, earthquakes will break out, and all of man's worst natural disasters will make what was once earth a wounded sector in our universe. The choice is yours, but never lose faith. "And what happens if I do?" I asked her. Then the world as we know it will be history. There was one before you Gunther. He knew the truth but his only setback was that he believed too much and it made him go insane. He and his wife divorced, she took off with the kids and moved a couple of her friends in. She began working from job to job, drinking heavy alcohol and having one-night stands with many men. Then one night, she was mysteriously murdered outside a local bar. That particular one lost faith because of his family and has pushed him farther away from reality. Here's my address, the hospital is about five miles away from the border oftown. He'll be a new admit there soon. It might help you. "I work at this facility." I thought in the back of my head. "You know what lady, I don't wanna hear anymore of your bullshit, whatever happens in time I have no control over." "Gunther, listen to me, alarm the world to those whose eyes are wide shut please. "How come you can't do it?" "Because no one will believe me." "And they'll believe me?" I got up from the table in amazement.
