Soldier of a Higher Power

This Christian fiction tells of Deniqua Greer's possible self-annihilation. "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with" is not an option when you are trying to live it God's way, and a single female with fleshly desires. In more ways than one, Deniqua experienced the Woman Thou Art Loose epiphany, per se.
Loyalty, commitment, and dedication to duty were not enough when dealing with her kind of enemy. Being GI Jane was all right if you were a single white female, but to dodge the slithering bullets, and win a battle, Deniqua had to become Rambet!
Getting with the program doesn't mean one has to be a chameleon just to fit in. Change can be good if for the right reasons. Deniqua's temporary change was done out of revenge. Thus teaching her that some things are not meant to be.
Being free to express self with dignity, excepted for who you are as you are, and given the respect for being you seem so simple. The Constitution of the United States gives one that right, but the underlying constitution, and your own morals or a lack thereof can make the destination a trip to hell. Be true, real, and believe in yourself, then take the wings God gave you, fly above the obstacles, and be free!

Chapter Excerpts
Chapter I: Growing Pains
page 6Deniqua remembered the hurt of hearing that. Lena seemed to enjoy it. Deniqua marched on.
It was three years later; life at home didn't feel like home to Deniqua. She had gotten a little closer to some of her relatives. On this day she decided to spend the night with a cousin. One who's brother happen to be Brutus. Of course Deniqua thought about this at some length. She made the decision after knowing Brutus wouldn't be there. He had some trouble with his family, so he stayed somewhere else. After all the activities of the day ended, Knowing Brutus wasn't around, Deniqua was looking forward to a good night sleep. Deniqua slept in the bed with the girls. Two slept at the top and two at the bottom. During the late hours of the night, for some reason Deniqua awakened. She had a feeling of uneasiness about her. Finally dozing off to sleep, she was awakened by a touch. A touch she felt before. Deniqua panicked! Fear instantly took over. She was being pulled from between two people at the bottom of the bed. Her heart stopped. She began to relive her worst nightmare. This just couldn't be happening again. In her mind she could hear this voice saying, kill him, kill him! Deniqua cried out to God in silent, why her? How did he know she was there? Why not his sister, anyone but her, she thought. Deniqua had to do something, but what. No, no, no, no, she pleaded with God. God help me she cried, again all in silent. It was happening to Deniqua all over again. Terrified, she laid there. She felt him penetrating her. It took all Deniqua had not to open her eyes as she faked being asleep, dead asleep. The pain was more intense this time. She could feel the walls of her vagina splitting. Deniqua felt sick to her stomach as he touched her body. It brought a sour taste to her mouth. She felt as if she was going to vomit. He continued to pound away inside her. Deniqua felt cold and dead. The noises seem to intensify with every motion, but no one heard a sound. Deniqua remained lifeless. The pounding stopped and Deniqua felt this awful cold wet feeling on her body. That animal had ejaculated on her thighs and genital area. He also took the pleasure of playing in it, as he seemed to be writing his name or leaving his mark on her. After he finished, that animal left Deniqua lying there. It was as if he wanted her to know he was back. Deniqua laid there as if her heart had just been ripped out, not to mention the rest of her body.
Chapter II: Love is a splendid thing ... isn't it?
page 75In this mass transit world we all have places to go and people to see. In order to get where we need to be, we must have some type of transportation to make the daily commute. It's 4:30 a.m. and the alarm goes off. It's cold outside, you can tell by the chill inside as your feet make their way to the floor. You shower and change, perhaps a little breakfast if there's time. Then you remembered to warm the car because it's the beginning of your daily commute. You live in Baltimore and work in Virginia, so you decide, do you drive and avail yourself to frustrating traffic, or do you take a commuter train. One could get a nice seat, read the bible, newspaper, or sleep. What decision... the train! Deniqua directed herself to the nearest MARC/Amtrak station, bought a round-trip ticket, and BAM, off to work she went. That was the life. Nice seats, only four stops, and smooth sailing the rest of the way. Deniqua arrived at Union Station in Washington DC and it hit her. What's up, she's still not at work. She discovered she had to take the metro rail the remaining of the way. What! "Oh yes," the person at the information booth said. You must buy a metro card and don't forget what line to get on. If you're going northwest take this line; southeast take that line, anywhere in between this line. Transfer one time to that line, get on this line, and it will get you where you need to go. Say what!
ChapterIII: The welfare of the enemy within. The army, not just a job, it's a trip!
page 95After a few weeks passed, Deniqua felt she missed something. She prayed for God to search her. She wasn't sure exactly how to put it into words, but she wanted a thorough searched by God. In talking with Reverend Christine, he prompted Deniqua to do a self-exam. They conversed on a sermon entitled, 'ME.'
In searching self, it did not provide a solution. It was like having religion without Jesus, no solution. Religion was man made. When referring to her faith, simply say she is a Christian. Christ made, Christ like, even if she wasn't always Christ driven. When Deniqua sought things pertaining to self, she went back to basic. To the beginning, back to God, the very one who created her. He who knew it all. In God, there was no mistake, no mis-diagnosing her. There is no failure in God. If God said it, she got it, and that's that. That was why she asked God to search her. For in the scripture, Psalms 139 says in vs.1, "O Lord, thou have searched me, and known me." Vs14 "... for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... ." Vs23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts, vs24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting," Amen.
It was confirmed the upcoming battles were justified by way of the cross. For many are the afflictions of the righteous. Deniqua prepared herself for spiritual warfare where carnal weapons were of no good. She visualized herself with the armor of God on, fully armed and heavenly guarded. Switching from being a soldier in the armed forces to a soldier in the army of the Lord. Thus being a Soldier of a Higher Power!
Chapter IV: To be or not to be
page 135That continued for ten to fifteen minutes, then back to the weigh routine. Brad stood in front of Deniqua, handing her the weighs. Brad was about seven inches taller than Deniqua, as he stood in front of her his chest was almost at her lips. Pressing up against Deniqua, his nipples became exposed. Deniqua handle the weighs down low. As Deniqua grabbed them, her hand rubbed against Brad's inner thigh. She could barely focus on what she was there for. While Brad instructed her on what to do, they stared eye to eye. When Brad finished his instructions, he ran his tongue across his lips, causing Deniqua knees to buckle. It was getting hot. For the first time, Deniqua began to perspire on her face. Back to the mat Brad said. Deniqua performed a stretch for the abdominal muscles. As Deniqua stretched, Brad pinched a few of the fine hairs on her stomach, causing her to immediately sit up. Deniqua looked directly at Brad, not a smile on his face, not even a twinkle in his eyes. Brad was teasing Deniqua, trying to get her aroused. Deniqua sat there watching Brad eyes go from hers to in between her legs. Deniqua was aroused; she was hot, real hot, streaming stinky hot! Deniqua could roast a wiener between her thighs. That was payback. No problem, Deniqua handled it.
By the time they begun the next exercise, Deniqua could barely breathe normally. Brad handed her two individual free weighs and asked her to lift her arms. Brad placed his hands on each shoulder. He ran them up to Deniqua's fingers while standing directly behind her, breathing down her neck and ear. Deniqua could feel the steam making it escape from between her legs. Brad gave Deniqua hands on demonstration; his groins touched her buttock repeatedly. Deniqua's mind wasn't focused on the exercise, but on the repeated feeling of Brad's loins touching her. Deniqua imagined the pounding, sweaty motion of Brad penetrating her from behind, while gripping her hips in a moment of passionate intercourse. Before she knew it, Deniqua let out a big moan. Brad voice came clear as she heard him say, "come on, give me one more." Finally, the last set, the session was over. Session over, but Deniqua was still turned on by the friction of Brad's body next to hers. Turned on by the constant imaginary thoughts of being in an interlock position with Brad. What sexual ecstasy they could produce if they came together at the right place and time. Not only together physically, but mentally, and emotionally. Reaching their peak with one big bang! Deniqua grabbed her things and headed for the door, but she didn't want to lose the feeling just yet. She really didn't want to lose the feeling at all.
page 152
Brad: I would love to have a continuous week like this one, but I know I'll be fooling myself. Let's see. I want to have a steady lady. One who is a friend, someone I can come to or call up and talk about whatever. I want and need for my lady to understand, and except my schedule at work, and not become one of those suspicious people, because my job causes me to deal with lots of women. Women of all shapes, sizes, colors, and those who wear barely nothing, to include some of them are very flirtatious. A woman who isn't dependent upon me for everything or need to know my every move. Knowing too, that I can't buy extravagant things or always take her out on the town. I need a woman who understands that I have responsibilities by way of my children. I would love to have a woman who's energetic and outgoing, not bossy or a nag. And God, please don't give me one of those holy women who knows everything, and everything I do outside of church is a sin. I guess I could live with and love that kind of woman.
Deniqua: Wow Brad, I'm surprised you didn't say you wanted an attractive woman with a model figure or...
Brad: Wait, wait a minute now. An ugly man doesn't want an ugly woman, because he's ugly enough. She doesn't have to have all that, but I don't want a fat woman. It's okay if she's big in some places, but not all of them. You know what I mean.
Deniqua: Well Brad, you didn't say you wanted a bald woman either. So...
Brad: Okay, let's end this conversation. I see I'm headed for trouble and I'm not going to win with those kind of questions.
Chapter V: SOHIPO - Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
page 176" ... and as soon as i die i hope everyone who loved me learns the meaning of my death which is a simple lesson-don't do what you do very well very well and enjoy it it scares white folk and makes black ones truly mad... but i wanted to be a new person and my rebirth was stifled not by the master but the slave..." (Giovanni, 1972).
Death is inevitable. But until that day come, Deniqua wants to do God's will whatever it may be, and she simply wants to live for these reasons.
I Want to Live
I want not just to survive, I want to live.
To experience what equality really have to give.
I want to live not shackled by systematic chain.
Brought on by bigotry, hatred and violence of selfish gain.
I want to live to enjoy what my ancestors gave their life to
provide. Pride, strength, cultural wealth, success, victory, nothing
denied.
I want to live to keep the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. An
extraordinary man among men who laid down his life, so our
freedom could ring.
I want to live to express my inner self. Not limited by race, sex, or
anything else.
I want to live so I can soar into the sky. To inhale the sweet
essence of a God given life.
I want to live to express my spiritual freedom through song and
dance. Giving praise and glory for a birth, not of circumstance.
I want to live so I can embrace the conquering of love.
In peace, serenity, gentleness, as in the symbol of a dove.
I want to live I tell you, I want to live. Can you help me, will you
help me? I want to live.
