CHAPTER SIX

"Faster!" He barked.

The driver responded and increased his speed.

Kurt sheepishly looked over his shoulder and saw the jeep continuing to keep pace. That made him more nervous.

He paid the driver and walked to one of the many market entrances. Once inside the dimly lighted market, he turned quickly and saw two men leaving the jeep. He darted down one of the side isles and drifted to the hardware area. Some of the stalls were closing up after the usual long day. He bought A pair of wire cutters at one stall and bargained for a heavy pair of work gloves at another stall. The next stall he bought a large role of duct tape. As he paid, and slowly counted his change,so he could look to his left. There were the two men from the jeep. One about his age and the other much younger. If they split up, I will have a chance, he thought.

He smiled to himself as he walked another ten meters and saw a small set of shinny screwdrivers on sale. He bartered briefly and bought the set.

I think I will have to go to the washroom, he thought. He slowly walked to the washrooms and paid for a couple pieces of newspaper, (the poor peoples toilet paper) and went into the dinghy poorly lighted room.

He went to the farthest stall and sat on the toilet without dropping his pants. He reached into the bag and fumbled around until felt the largest of the screwdrivers. He took it from the bag, while listen as the locals entered and pissed. Some talked about their families, others about their dates for the night.

Kurt waited calmly and rehearsed various scenarios. He thought, the old man will send the kid. That is good, although younger and stronger, his inexperience will be my advantage. It was quite for about three minutes. He opened the stall door, just a crack. Surprised by the young man from the jeep facing the mirror, combing his hair. Kurt closed the door quickly as his heart started to race.

He heard the farthest stall door creek open then close. Not very professional, Kurt thought. The next door opened, and the next. Kurt start to sweat as his door slowly opened. In front of him stood the handsome curly headed young man. Kurt looked up from his seat and meekly smiled. The young man started to speak; Kurt did not give him time to complete the first word. He jammed the screwdriver under his sternum into his heart. The boy's eyes bulged opened, as if he wanted to scream.

Kurt jumped off the toilet and put his hand over his victim's mouth, while working the screwdriver from side to side. The young man's body began to buckle. In one swooping motion, Kurt twisted and lowered the young man onto the toilet seat and then calmly put his hands on each side of the young man's head and snapped his neck. He pulled the bloody screwdriver from the boy's chest, wiped the bloody bladed shaft on the victim's shirt, and then dropped it into his little bag.
