Grandparents anyone can be proud of. True life stories of the men who came to Canada to make a home. The names of McGregor and McMurry are names to be proud of. We hope we have a little of that in us. John McGregor leaves Scotland to claim land in Canada, which was given to anyone who cleared a piece of land and built a home on the land. It was a land grant in the 1800s.

About the Book

This is about the life of my great grandfather's uncle, John McGeorge, my great grandfather, James McMurray, and my Grandfather John McMurray and their lives and wives in the 1800s.

About the Author

John Rossborough was born during the horse and buggy days. In the words of the author, "I was not wanted at birth and the only way that my mother would care for me was if I was dressed as a girl with long hair. I was not shown any love and was a very mean child. When my father got home from work his first duty was to give me a pounding for something I had done. When I started school my father had me dress as a boy and cut my long hair. I got in a lot of fights because everyone knew me as a girl. I was told that if I did not change I would get nothing for Christmas. I did not change and got nothing."
