About the Book
In this new millennium we are all being moved to open ourselves up to new realities and rediscovering the deeper meaning of old spiritual truths. One of the major spiritual truths is that we are one, since the Divine Spirit resides in all of us. We are not only one on a spiritual, but also on the physical level. Going through the 12 astrological signs, we learn how the structures of the astrological symbols are rediscovered in the form and function of our organs. Simultaneously, the aspects of nature such as trees, the sun and moon are brought into connection with the astrological signs and the body parts. Mountains and rivers become visible through the structure and physiology of our kidneys (Libra). Since we are created in the image of God, the Divine Heart shines within our hearts (Leo) as the sun, the center of our solar system. As we recognize how the planets circle within the body, we suddenly realize that we are the solar system. Through the use of positive affirmations, we learn to apply and appreciate all these aspects within our beings. This book will empower you to see who you truly are, a spark of the Divine in a human body, resembling the universe.
"In this wonderful book, ML. Francke has made the anatomy and physiology of the human body understandable to everybody. She has found the words to explain in a clear way the relationship between the astrological signs and their representation in our bodies. ML. Francke also gives us insight into astronomy, as well as Western and Eastern medicine, thanks to her extensive knowledge in all these fields. This book is unique, as it reveals that there are no good or bad zodiacal signs, but that we need all of them to progress in this world. This book is clearly structured; it is solid knowledge based, and it is a book also for people not familiar with astrology. It is an accessible "oevre d'art," a great tidbit to read. One thing that characterizes masterpieces is simplicity. With this book, you are now holding such a work in your hands."

Reveals how the human body resembles our solar system and discloses how the planets circle within the body.Introduction In this new millennium we are all being moved to open ourselves to new realities and rediscovering the deeper meaning of old spiritual truths. One of the major spiritual truths is that we are all connected and that from the spiritual point of view, we are one, since the Divine Spirit resides in all of us. Each one of us is needed to orchestrate the endless symphony of the universe. Not a single part or fragment in nature, which would incorporate the mineral world, the plant and animal kingdom and the humans including the angelic and invisible realm, can be missing in this Divine Creation, which is whole and complete. Certain elements may seemingly disappear through death from the physical world only to enter another realm and energy form; but they never vanish completely, because each fragment plays its unique role in the universe.
The word "universe" comes from the Latin word "unus," which means "one," "to be one," and the verb "vertere/versus," which means "to turn;" in other words, "to be turned into one." The universe was already considered in ancient times to be one and complete. Furthermore, it is able to change and grow. Creation is like a symphony that has its own melodies as it develops over time. In the last few decades this thought of being one with all that is has been recaptured in many "spiritually opened" minds and is repeatedly cited in esoteric literature. Although we might know that we are one from the spiritual level, how can we also recognize this truth from a physical point of view. For example, how can we see that we are one with a tree, or if we are one with the cosmos; how can we find this connection? I have pondered this question for the last 15 to 20 years, and I considered that we are like a microcosm representing the entire universe, which is the macrocosm, out of which the title The Universe In Our Body developed. Although syntactically in written form, it would be more correct to say "in our bodies" versus "in our body," I consciously chose to use the singular form, since this formulation has greater impact on our subconscious minds. It gives us a sense that we all have the same body in terms of anatomical structure and therefore, the term "our body" impregnates us more with the feeling of the oneness of all that is. This formulation also assists us with the current shift into the new millennium and raises our consciousness. The spoken language changes and adapts itself faster to the movements in the culture than the written language.
In addition, I asked myself, how the macrocosm can become clearly visible in the human body? Throughout the years I found - and knew - that this physical world was a symbolic learning experience, so that everything that we saw had basically a symbolic meaning. During my medical studies I received insights that on the physical plane we are connected through symbols. Through my early interest in astrology I read that each zodiacal sign ruled a certain area of the body. This was known since ancient times. In the medieval ages, there are many rich illustrations of the zodiacal signs. Some show in almost a humorous way the astrological signs drawn in the body; however, not according to the way the body is built. As I started meditating over the symbols, I would receive insights of how the astrological symbols are correlated with the structure of the body, which I didn't find described elsewhere. This is one of the major goals of this book: to explicate the connection of the symbols with the structure and function of the organs. Furthermore, it is meant to inspire people to find their own connections and insights. A wonderful way to do so is when we consciously take time in nature and connect with the great variety of nature's elements: rocks, plants, trees and animals. Each element is a living being and has the capacity to communicate with us symbolically, telepathically or both.
As I was doing scientific research during my six-month stay in Valencia, Spain, in 1996, I started to connect especially with trees. I would sit below and talk to a tree telepathically. I would ask questions or just feel the soothing energy of the tree. During that period I worked with an olive tree and we became good friends. I also used the opportunity to ask her one of my major questions: how we are connected and how she sees the fact that we are one. I put my experience with the wonderful olive tree together into a poem.
The wisdom of an olive tree An old twisted olive tree
Told me once a beautiful mystery
From her many wisdoms a simple truth
With inner depth and endless root.
With great respect she said to me:
"There is no big difference between you and me;
You human being appear to me like a walking tree.
There is a universal truth that all is one
Throughout all creation the Divine has done."
I replied with words of ease:
"Oh, dear tree of peace,
Please explain to me,
How can that be?"
From her great green crown
Came pouring down
A violet hue of energy
To give me peace and harmony.
"It is very simple," she said,
"My crown represents your arms and head,
My trunk is your belly and chest,
My roots are your legs at rest."Besides the beautiful message of us being one with trees, I recognized that we find miniature trees in the body; for example, we speak of the bronchial tree. The liver together with the intestines functions like a tree. The intestines represent the roots as they absorb nutrition. The liver is the tree crown and transforms all the absorbed nourishment into vital nutrients. The brain has some similarities to trees. Whereas the brain hemispheres could be seen as the tree crown, the spinal cord would represent the trunk and the peripheral nerves would be the roots.
Since ancient times, the Divine is considered to embody both the male and female cosmic principle, also known as the Divine Father and Mother aspect. The olive tree shared with me that we can find these two cosmic principles in trees and in the human body, since the Divine exists in all that is. We naturally speak of Mother Earth as the nurturing aspect of our Divine Mother. We can consider the heavenly skies, the sun and the central sun of the universe as the Divine Father aspect. The olive tree said that trees appear like magnets with a positive and negative pole. The tree crown would be the positive pole, the Divine Father aspect, radiating out the energy in from of a loving aura, which it receives from the sun and the universe. In the drawing, this is illustrated through the violet hue energy that the olive tree pours out, connecting the crown with the ground. The roots would represent the negative pole, absorbing all the energy from Mother Earth, including all the nutrients and water. As it is mentioned in the Old Testament (Genesis 1:27), we are created in the image of God. Now, if we see ourselves one with a tree (see Illustration 1), this spiritual truth becomes more evident. We also have these two basic poles in the body. The diaphragm divides the body into two halves. The upper part is the heavenly realms, which incorporates the chest, arms and head and represents the positive pole. The chest holds the sun, the heart, and the clouds in the sky, the lungs. Our arms and hands give and receive like the branches of trees. The head embodies the Divine Mind, which receives wisdom from the universe. The Divine Mind contains in its energy a more father- or male-like energy; hence, it represents the Divine Father aspect as the brain puts thoughts and ideas into action. The brain connects with the Divine Father aspect of the universe.
The lower part of the body, which is the belly and legs, is the negative pole and our connection to Mother Earth and the Divine Mother aspect. The belly holds our planet earth, which is our intestines, the source of our nourishment. We receive our basic life energy force through touching Mother Earth with our legs and feet. To summarize, one could say that we are created in the image of God through representing the Divine Father aspect and the heavenly realms in the upper part of the body and the Divine Mother/ Mother Earth aspect in the lower part of the body. When we ponder and meditate on the Divine Father and Mother aspect within us, we are empowered to see who we truly are: a spark of the Divine in a human body, resembling the universe.

The subtle human body contains seven major energy centers, also called the chakras: 1) Through the red root chakra at the base of the spine, we receive energy from Mother Earth. The feet chakra, located at the center of each foot, are minor chakras and transfer energy to the root chakra through direct contact with Mother Earth. Our feet and legs reflect the roots of the first chakra. 2) The second chakra is orange and located a few inches above the root chakra; it holds our planet earth and the moon. According to the Japanese tradition, it is called the Hara-center and is known as the "Earth center" of the human body. 3) The third chakra is situated in the stomach area and has a yellow color since it represents the solar plexus. 4) At the center of the chest, the heart chakra holds the sun. In enlightened beings, the heart chakra is golden (center = goldenyellow). People who work intensely with their heart tend to have pink colors in this chakra (indicated as a pink frame around the golden center). Most commonly the heart chakras are green. Since our arms are the extensions of the heart, they appear like green branches. 5) In the neck area, the bright blue throat chakra assists us in our daily communication. 6) The third eye chakra is made of a deep blue color for clairvoyance. 7) Through the deep purple crown chakra, located at the top of the head, we receive divinely inspired thoughts known as claircognizance. When open, our purple-red ear chakras, located at the sides of the head, indicate that we are clairaudient. The ear chakras are considered to be minor chakras.
