Excerpt from Chapter 2 - The Smile Zone

Almost everyone has experienced what seemed to be a magical day when everything went right and you could do no wrong. Great athletes call this "being in the zone". It is a time when the laws of the physical universe seem to disappear. When a person is in the quote unquote "ZONE", that person is in sync and everything is going right. If a person was in the zone palying basketball, then that would mean that every shot was going in. If a person is a football quarterback, then every pass is a completed pass and every play would be a success. If a youngster is playing a video game, and they are in the zone, then they couldn't lose. I think you get the gist of what I am saying. When a person is in the zone everything goes right.

I do understand that sometimes things just aren't going well and the whole world looks as if it is going to the dogs. If you read or watch the news at all, then you will understand that there are a lot of bad things that go on throught the course of each day. But each of us has a choice as to what our focus is drawn to. If the smiles are getting few and far between then maybe it's time to change our diet. When I say diet, I am not speaking of food, but what we are feeding our minds. It has been said, "Garbage in, garbage out". If you are on a diet of negativity and are constantly focusing on the horror that is around us all, then your smileage is probably very low.

Excerpt from Chapter 6 - Smile for Your Health

An apple a day keeps the doctor away or so the saying goes, but a smile can do wonders for you health too. Humans were created with built in medicine that bring health to the body and soul. There is a proverb that says, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine...". It is true that smiling is indeed healthy.

From an unbiased perspective, there are certain things that are just facts of life. Look at gravity for instance, if you jump from an elevated place, there is one direction that a person will go and that is down. Unless a person is Superman or has learned to fly, then the result will be the same for everyone. There are immutable universal laws. In other words, there are facts that are absolute and unarguable. Babies cry, the wind blows, the tide goes out and comes in, the sun rises and if I might add: Smiles make a person feel better, both the smiler and smilee.
