About the Book

Ed Tuten, 40 years old, and his wife Jane with 2 small children, Denise and Howard, are living happily, carefree and enjoying life. Suddenly God stops Ed in his tracks and over a period of a few weeks completely changes his purpose and direction in life by instructing him to build a Christian FM Radio Station. He knows absolutely nothing about radio, has no reserve monies and his wife doesn't work a job outside the home. He soon finds himself jobless and penniless, with four mouths to feed, a mortgage and bills to pay and self-esteems sliding to the bottom of the pit.

This story is about how God, in teaching them who to trust, provided monies and means as well as tearing down pride while all the time showing them how to exercise and strenghten the measure of faith He had given them. It is the true hand of God guiding and leading them through many trials and tests.

At any point in time, quitting would have been a blessing, but knowing deep in his Spirit that God Almighty Himself was behind what seemed to be madness and a sure pattern to destructions, he continued to push ahead and God honored the deep seated faith placed in him at the time the Rhema came forth from the Father - "Build Me A Christian FM Radio Station."

About the Author

Ed Tuten was born in Savannah, GA in 1939. He settled with his family in Cartersville, GA in January 1974 to work as a computer consultant and system designer in a carpet mill. He was born again in July 1974. Ed worked in the carpet mille until God spoke to leave his well-loved job. He shortly found himself jobless and penniless. After 5 months of living in the proverbial spiritual desert being taught by God how to trust Him and listen for His direction, Ed eventually found a job with a motel as night auditor then at a drugstore as Merchandising Manager. While at the drug store in May 1979, God spoke to build Him a Christian FM Radio Station and the redirect of his life began. He pastored a small church in his home for 3 and a half years, but demands of the radio ministry required him to discontinue the church. He and his wife have dedicated their lives to serving God and pushing the boundaries of the radio ministry to other countries of the world.

PREFACE

I wrote this book for the sole purpose of giving God the glory for the things He has done. This ministry was founded on two principles: a word from God, and Him placing the faith in me to believe a radio station could be raised up no matter the circumstances. This book is the testimony of how a 40 year-old man, only a few years older than Christ, heard a Word from God and how that man over a period of years learned to listen and believe that God could perform what He speaks. This book is the testimony of how a man and woman lived from payday to payday with no extra money and no savings, learned through trials and tribulations that God will, in His time, supply all of their need. This book is the testimony oh how God called a man and woman to build a radio ministry when neither were ministers, nor did they know anything about radio.
In the early years of the ministry God gave me a book titled, "Cry From Immanuel Mountain." I didn't know at the time this would someday be the book I would write telling His story of how He deals with people even in this century to do the seemingly impossible. As situations and circumstances unfolded, people began commenting, "You need to write a book." I would hear this occasionally, and each time I would think about the book title He had given me. I am not a writer, nor am I an individual that is good with words, so I procrastinated as most of us do. Years have gone by and I am now 62 years of age. Many days have passed in the ongoing ministry and God began strongly dealing with me about writing the memoirs of Immanuel Broadcasting Network. He wanted in built for the stated but undefined purpose of, "FILLING A VOID IN THIS AREA." It has not only developed into a radio station, but a ministry in every sense of the word.
There have been good times and there have been bad times, but all the times were guided by God's hand to direct us and guide us through the maze of doubts and fears, which naturally take place in men's hearts when God's will is in the balance. To think a trip of this nature is for pleasure is a statement reserved for only the foolish. God's business is very serious business. He doesn't tolerate trite, idle, and half-hearted efforts, nor does He tolerate lack of communication and disobedience. When you are the front man, humility is the key to God's heart, and humbleness is the path to His blessings.
People have talked about Jane and me concerning the mission God called us to accomplish. For reason unclear to us, we are still being verbally persecuted because we won't submit to the music some people like or the programs they want to hear because their personal desires are in direct violation of the Word God put forth for their ministry to pursue. They have attacked our efforts in raising up a radio ministry and our personal lives, sometimes verbally to our face and other times in very ugly worded letters, some signed and others unsigned, telephone calls and e-mails. People questioned out integrity and purpose. It has been difficult at time not to strike back, but we knew vengeance was God's . We didn't have time for the lackluster smallness of spirit to respond to these ludicrous accusations. After a period of time I began to realize people criticized Jesus in His day, and people still criticize Him today after the sacrifice He made for humanity. I was just a little fish in a very big pond. If He could then and does now withstand faultfinding, then maybe I needed to look at myself and have an attitude adjustment if I was going to follow Him. After several years, I slowly learned what it means in Psalms 2:1 when it asks the question, why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? I began to ignore such talk. God is my source and my supply. He is my Father and my manager. He is the designer and builder. Jane and I have one purpose as servants of God. That purpose is to fulfill the vision He gave us. We learned to pray for and forgive those who despitefully used and talked about us. We asked the Lord to forgive us for harboring bitterness and to forgive them because they didn't know what they were doing; they didn't have all the facts.
I learned the vision of God, that had been placed and established in my heart by Him, was the most important thing in the world, and nothing or no one, I mean absolutely nothing or no one, should stand in the way to accomplish that vision. It is virtually impossible to please all the people all the time, so you charge along on the path God has laid down allowing nothing to get in your way. If you let them, people will destroy a God-given vision and you in the process. You have to learn to be strong and bold with the assurance that under those circumstances, God is with you.
It is with and through all of this that today Immanuel Broadcasting Network is a viable ministry sending the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world with live streaming on the Internet. There are two full-power stations and eight translators on the air beaming the gospel to Northwest Georgia, Northwest Alabama, and Southeast Tennessee. This is the testimony of that miracle and this God-called ministry. This is the testimony of how literally thousands caught the vision an dover the years prayed, contributed finances, and volunteered their time to make Immanuel Broadcasting Network a success. It is to their credit that hundreds have come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and can look forward to the day when not only the Lord say, "WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT" but also a resident of heaven will walk up to them and say, "Thank you for giving to the Lord."
