Sample Excerpts

As the rain stopped - out of nowhere he heard footsteps coming close until they were just on the other side of the metal sign. The sign was lifted up and two old men stood in front of him. The first man had a torn white tee shirt, long gray hair and a long gray beard.

"Who are you? Have you been here awhile?" asked the old man.

Yes, my name is Kyle," he answered.

"Well, welcome to the Town of Rhyme, a place that has been lost in time, where everyone talks in rhyme," said the old man.

"Who are you?" asked Kyle.

"My name is Drew, but don't ask me my last name, I don't have a clue!" said the man. Behind him was another man with a hat covering his long hair; he had a long beard and was carrying a big stick.

"Who's the other man with the big stick?" asked Kyle.

"Oh that old fool, he's called Limerick; but don't talk to him because when he answers he'll sound like a hick," said Drew.

"What is this place?" aksed Kyle.

"This is the Town of Rhyme - a place that got lost in time. No one knows we're here and that's just fine. We don't like strangers coming into Rhyme; they bring in bad grammar and that's considered a crime. I didn't know this sign was still out here. It must have been forgotten and knocked down by a deer. So where are you from little kiddy?" said Drew.
