About the Book About the Author Excerpts

About the Book

Anyone who has lived beyond young adulthood must come to the realization that "life" is a serious experience, and if we don't learn to smile or laugh about it - it'll kill us. SHOTS AND ECHOES: picture and prose glimpses of life from a seriocomic eye. SERIOCOMIC RAMBLING: observations, ideas, reflections - succinctly written for quick-viewing to evoke smiling thoughts, and laughter too. This is the type of book that can be looked through time and time again, just a few pages, or cover to cover.

About the Author

Bobby Nelson has written and headlined for shows in major hotels, theatres, and television, from New York to Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, and throughout the USA and Canada. He is passionate about writing, and when it's for Live Performance he describes that as a fun-filled challenge - consequently, his goal for SHOTS AND ECHOES: SERIOCOMIC RAMBLING was to convey that kind of 'live' feeling - a seriocomic soliloquy in pictures and prose. Bobby Nelson, a long-time member of the Professional Musicians Union, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and the Screen Actors Guild, resides in Los Angeles, California.

introduction
"SHOTS AND ECHOES" has an equal amount of pages containing seriocomic pictures and prose, thereby giving this book the rare distinction of receiving rave reviews from literates, and their semi-illiterate friends.
Incredible as it seems, you can now actually recommend a book to that friend who would never even open one..if it didn't have pictures.

I'll make this brief (not a pun), "The Thong."

What was once an unbearable discomfort, and

you coaxed it out--is now stylishly "in"

in more ways than one. Don't Ask!

The "Communication Craze" is now an Addiction.
It's Non-Stop "24/7" Blah Blah Blah!

Computers; Desk-Top, Lap-Top, Palm-Held,

email, shemail, hemail...Cell Phone, Car Phone,

Headphone, Desk-Fax, Car-Fax...Blah Blah Blah.

All I have is a Phone Answer-Machine--so I can

screen the callers, and not talk to half of them!

And I NEVER plug-in this stupid Jack!!

Through the years, all the hoopla about

Valium, Xanax, Prozac, Medicinal Marijuana

(pot - grass - weed - maryjane), who needs it?

After a couple of St. John's or Kava Kava,

I'm m e l l o w... m e l l o w . . . .

m e l l o w . . . . . . . . . .
