About the Book

Many years ago the thought occurred to me that epigrams and maxims are the star shells of communication. They briefly illuminate situations, ideas and the context of the intellectual land and seascapes that may suddenly provide us with a perspective leading to some understanding of the world in which we seek survival.

The first one I recall writing was in the margin of a college text book more than sixty years ago. It is: 'All generalities are wrong - including this one'. Over the years I continued to observe items in the interpretations presented here.

Recorded sometimes as a possible guide, sometimes as a snarl of frustration, sometimes with the shock of humor and always with the understanding that my interpretation of the world is that of an individual.

Included are some labeled examples of optical illusions to demonstrate the varying interpretations that may occur between perception and reality. They are not related to the statements they face but stand independently as items which present the possibility of mental perception fluctuating as it evaluates views of one picture.

The Animal Facts in Volume Two are examples of animal structures and capabilites.

It is my hope that the reader will find some enjoyment and perhaps benefit to some slight extent from this glimpse of my perceptions of parts of existence and the world.

Volume One presents epigrams, optical illusions and insignias. To purchase Perception May Be Reality - Volume One or to view sample excerpts, Click Here!
