Matthew 13:49, "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just."
Now let's examine this passage. This is one of many scriptures which will reveal the truth of hell. Let's just see at this moment, how many questions I can raise in this verse alone. (1) If hell does not exist, why would a statement like this one even be needed? (2) Why the need of a division of the wicked from the just? (3) What is the purpose of this division? (4) Who are the wicked and who are the just? (5) If the angels are going to sever, where are they going to sever the wicked to and the same of the just? These questions that I have presented here must have a response from you for I already know the answers. Please notice that throughout this book, I am directing my attention to you as the reader personally. My questioning is directed strictly at you. Don't just pass them by as part of your reading. The question mark at the end is for a purpose. Let's not leave this verse yet. (6) What about this word sever. This word is translated from the Greek word (aphorizo 873) which literally denotes "to mark off by boundaries or limits." This word is used ten times in the New Testament. It is used one time in meaning divide, eight times in meaning separate, and one time in meaning sever. Now if this verse alone is not enough to get you on this track I am wanting you to venture, let's go to the very next verse.
Matthew 13:50, "And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Obviously, sever, the action word or verb here, in the preceding verse has more
consequences than previously realized. The wailing and gnashing of teeth is explicit in its meaning to indicate pain and suffering. Self denial could be presented here if one is limited as to what these verses are indicating. The first part of this chapter thirteen is a parable of a dragnet that Jesus is using symbolically to represent the gathering of the wicked and just. People of that time understood what a dragnet was. After pulled in, the edible fish are sorted from the other. The inedible fish are then cast to the side. At first glance, (the restricted view) one could indicate that this is a parable only, but further examination reveals that this portion of the chapter where these two verses were taken is Jesus explaining what the parable of the dragnet represents. This part is not a parable but an explanation of that parable. A big difference but understand, there are people who would play this out to be a parable only.

This book is about hell and I might as well let you know that maybe this is a good time for one to really come to grasp with the idea that God is a judge. Who are we to question anything that God has done, is doing, or will do? God Himself said He will be glorified in all things. All things mean everything. The word ALL is quite clear. God cannot stand the presence of sin and His divine right of people living in sin will be vindicated. So even by the unbeliever spending eternity in hell, God will be glorified. Hell itself will glorify His justice. It will glorify His power. It will glorify His wrath through all eternity. God is eternal, so His nature must be eternal. Therefore His grace, His mercy, and His truth are eternal so then this leaves no choice but to accept the fact that His justice, His wrath, and His judgment will also be eternal. Therefore I say to you, hell is eternal. For ever and ever.
