About the Author

Morgan Rollins, author of Believing, The Handbook of Beauty and Fitness has been married to her sweetheart for nearly 23 years. Their home, along with their two teenage sons lies in the wild and scenic mountains of southern West Virginia.

An avid lover of nature, Morgan has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with an emphasis on the environment, and chemistry. Working well over a decade as an Environmental Permitting/Design Specialist engineer with the Bituminous Coal Mining Industry, presented her a wonderful opportunity to articulate this love. In addition, although her career has been stressful and hectic, a true respect for working in or outside the home, and juggling the rest of life has progressed.

This progression, along with having been crowned with two former state pageant titles (including a MRS. WV) inspired the idea of logically compiling both beauty and fitness information. Knowing firsthand that it is difficult to feel glamorous, let alone attractive when covered in coal refuse and dust is the reason the most important part of her life is revealed within this book.

That being her love of God, and acknowledging that she rarely is "fine-looking", but her beauty lies within her soul. Nonetheless, society mandates our personal appearance and well being is important to us, thus Morgan shares the pages of what has worked for her, making beauty and fitness less expensive, and hectic.

Sample Excerpts

Our quest for beauty and fitness is obtainable through effort, and high principles. In addition, with soaring standards we take wing, reaching back into yesterday, and thus mend our intentions of what to do, believing in forever.

Does it sound familiar that we fear to sniff a freshly broiled hummingbird tongue in that it just may result in a fresh storage of fat in our buttocks?

Just eat. Found herein is how I figured this out!

Please God help me today, as I am reassured by your love and grace that unlike my body, my soul is fit, and healthy. Help me overcome my desires of rich food, and cravings, which will result in ill health, and extra weight, to take me prematurely from this most precious life. I ask for the knowledge that something works other than: liposuction, prescription drug pills, special pre-packaged expensive food, and caffeine laden herbal products for which I have not the spare money. I pray for strength; moreover, today I pray for the miracle of overcoming desperation in the deficit of admittance that this earthly vessel of a body only stores the beauty of your love for a short while. And dear God, if it isn't too much to ask, could you please move Richard Simmons next door, and have him take a special interest in my friendship and well being. Amen.

Suddenly we heard a growl! Mind you, not a small slightly offended squirrel like growl, but more of a GET AWAY FROM MY FOOD, mean black bear growl. The monstrous, throaty sound was right on the other side of the berry thicket.
We ran, quickly. Did I mention that a can of blackberries from the market is sometimes pricey, but are nonetheless delicious?

Except, my time was changing. It wasn't that very moment that I decided to get back into a better fitness regime, but round about that time, I knew the baby fat had to go.

No more excuses, just buttocks and elbows!

The fitness program I have personally developed may seem familiar. After studying a little dance, and having a mother that instructed me with yoga type "back stretchers" - I called those back breakers, to whittle another half inch from my waist, these have been incorporated into my program. Pilate's is profound, and if you would have paid attention in high school gym class, you can see this infiltrating our stretching, resistance, and calisthenics routines.
Most importantly as an engineer, I have devised particular movements, which if done in the order I am about to share with you, will add a little extra something to your workout. Not that the order in which exercise movements are done outweighs the fact that they are being done. Added muscle fatigue to one particular area, puts a higher stress on the muscles worked following that movement. A more intense fitness movement is achieved in a smaller amount of time.

No gimmicks, tricks, fly by night, nor seat of the pant fitness, and body toning/shaping. Guarantee yourself that you will not quash. I will guarantee you that this is the only guarantee that you will ever need.

Healthy, and toned are in, too thin is out!

Any brow if shaped according to your facial structure balances, frames, and enhances. As you age, brows that are kept a little thinner skim several years from baggy eyes. Please refer to Figure I.3.

Any remover, including cold creams, and lotions are good if they work, and if you find them satisfying. I tried everything before deciding to save a fortune on such a good product, which had several other benefits as well.

Introduction

The alarm sounds. It is five o'clock in the morning. Hurriedly, you get out of bed to shut off that horrendously loud beep. For a few moments that dread, that well-known fear sweeps over you. That along with being scared wide-eyed awake makes your heart pound.
After all that was why you placed the clock on the chest instead of the nightstand. You would actually have to get vertical with no chance of falling back to sleep.
So methodical, and organized, you are in control, starting every day the same way. The familiar game plan rolls through your perfectionist mind as you waddle towards the bathroom, looking downward, gaze resting on those flabby thighs. However, they do appear toner this morning than they did last night. At least that is a hopeful sign.
Today is a new day, and offers another renewed opportunity to loose the weight, to become more beautiful! The feeling of joy amazingly wells upward through you until you could almost belt out the tune "I get a do-over".
As the morning progresses past lunch the familiar sound of the frantic beating drum courses realization into fantasy land that with your job, kids, packing lunches, answering phones, carpooling, etc., it all boils down, way down to this fact - you are too busy to worry about you. No way have you the time to worry of counting calories, fat grams, carbohydrates, gray hairs, broken nails, crunches, and glasses of water.
Then as if predisposed and pre recorded in blood your onetime friend walks through the lobby. Smugly she looks at you and flashes the nah-nah smile in your face.
As if you could possibly miss the fact that she is "seven" dress sizes smaller, toned, perfectly dressed, and sporting a new hair do. You say to yourself, "that b* better think of calling her another name". What you mean is that she looks wonderful, and you wish you somehow could master your own fate. Moreover, how you want to be in control. You really, really want to.
Somehow, your life will be more meaningful, and the right decisions about everything will fall into place when you make any choice if you are rail thin. Nevertheless, when will you decide to be better? For that particular moment, familiar as it sounds, you hate yourself.
If only frustration could be your friend? If only, if only - you think longingly, wishing your precious life away. Happiness seems so far in the distance. At least it does until you loose yourself in hectic life a small lapse in time later.
When thinking about a small lapse in time fitness in particular seems to take forever. Waiting for that pound to drop is like looking up at the clock on the wall three hours later to find that another ten minutes had passed. Breathe, six, seven, and eight. That is right. Breathe, and just do nothing, and think nothing for a while.
Feel your chest move slowly inward and outward as you slow down to simply breathe. Exist and smile. Exist, existing, e-x-i-s-t-i-n-g, much like a few billion others.
So then, "do you brush your teeth"? Please lie if you do not, including that you may be one of the denture wearers who brush, and place them in a cup beside the bedpost at night. What is so overwhelmingly difficult about brushing one's teeth; so artful as it were?
Therefore, do you think beauty, and fitness could be a little simpler to keep track of? Did this get your attention?
Now for the big question, no, no, no dear this is not going to be a proposal of marriage, or even joint credit cards. The ultimate question is do you really think hell would freeze over if you do not become the most beautiful, fit, desirable person on the face of God's green earth.
Do you think you might find it in your heart to forgive yourself of being just a little more than average and rethink your perfect plan? Not of course, that you think it may have a loophole or two in it.
A foiled plot or two is good training. For practice is as practice does much as the old adage "pretty is as pretty does". Simultaneously, now let's walk through this together.
Put your right hand on your left shoulder. Good, now place your left hand on your right shoulder. Squeeze, forgive, release. Again with a little more feeling, squeeze, forgive, release, six, seven, eight. One more time, just for the heck of it, squeeze, forgive, release, and this time add a smile. You did wonderfully!
After all if the big "JC", the ultimate One, Jesus Christ, can forgive us of our forth and short comings, we mere chosen human beings can at least try to forgive ourselves and one another.
Just in case you need a little extra advice on what simplifies this woman's regime, composed masterfully in its quickness and ease to follow, and bound herein is a handbook of ideas followed daily.
Enjoy reading; however, keep in mind that as a two-time (2) state pageant titleholder there might just be a trick or two dozen up this sleeve.
Yes dear, you have it right. The quintessential blonde-haired person that I proclaim to be, that has a thing-a-ma-what-cha-ma-call-it, otherwise known as an idea, a belief, and is not afraid to use it believing in the fact that it is okay to feel good about small blessings, and yourself. Feel comfort that our Creator believes in all of us as well!
Words used hurtfully toward another are an intention to starve one's otherwise fulfilling heart. No matter the intended projected beauty, what truly remains when one leaves is the attitude.
