About the Book
Living in West Virginian, the author retired, bought a boat (41 foot ketch) and with his family sailed from Annapolis to Santa Barbara. It took ten months to sail ten thousand miles through the Bahamas, the Caribbean, across the North part of South America, the Panama Canal, and then North to California.

Ray Ewald, is a retired Chemical Engineer, tennis player and traveler. He adores his wife, Hazel, and their children who at the start of the cruise were Mary, 18, Sid, 22 and Tom, 27. Tom was our ship doctor, with a new M.D. from Duke Medical School.
