About the Book

A beautiful Chinese doctor struggles alone to support her two small children while managing the hospital in Tianjin, China. For over seven years, she has not heard from her husband, who was captured by the Japanese Army in Manchuria and presumed dead. One day, she meets an American flyer. They fall in love and plan to marry. Mysteriously, her husband returns to Tianjin critically wounded. Who will she choose? Will it be her husband and father of their two children or this American flyer from San Francisco?

The author has been fortunate to have travelled extensively in China, including Beijing, Badaling (China Wall), Chengde, Tianjin, Harbin, Jilin, Changchun, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao, Xian, Jinan, Qufu, Tai Shan, Chengdu, Leshan, Tibet, Lhasa, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, San Xia (Three Gorges Dam), Yangtze River Cruise, Chongqing and Hong Kong. His keen intereset in China, its history and Traditional Chinese Medicine is only surpassed by his appreciation of the wonderful Chinese people. His China travels would have been impossible without their helpfulness and cheerfulness.

... Captain Vogel and Lt. Berg checked the mooring lines and then arranged for refueling before turning for the arrival building. The flight took 6 3/4 hours against the northwesterlywind. From the bottom of the ramp, he peered through the falling snow and he started making his way to the Flight Office. Through the thick, swirling snowflakes, he caught a glimpse of her beauty......radiant yet mysteriously untouched by time. Wearing a long red woolen coat and a black shawl that protected her from the cold wind, she was holding the door open for him that led to the Flight Office.

Surprised by this tall, attractive Chinese woman, the captain courteously returned her intriguing smile as her scintillating, dark eyes looked directly into his mesmerized stare of amazement!

"Unbelievable, simply unbelievable!", he muttered to himself....
