About the Book

From Blue to Crimson displays how someone that has lived their entire life upholding the law and then get fed a constant barrage of heinous acts by the media, could then get fed up with the law protecting the guilty.

About the Author

Richard D. Ward served three tours of duty in Viet Nam while completing nine years of service in the United States Navy. After traveling extensively throughout the far east he wanted to go to Europe. The Navy only offered him Rota, Spain, which seemed remote to most of central Europe, so Richard got out and joined the United States Army, serving 11 years in the service before retiring at age 37. He had the pleasure of spending a total of 7 years stationed in and traveling throughout Europe. He then spent the next 3 years going to college full time obtaining an AA degree from Potomac State College in his hometown of Keyser, WV and a BS from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD. His services were then needed as a Legalization Adjudicator for the Department of Justice when the Government had the Amnesty program in 1987. After the program was over Richard went back to graduate school at Frostburg and then on to a 20-year career with the Department of Defense. Richard has used these 40 years of experience and travels with the Government to make this an exciting and very different style of novel.

Excerpts

From Chapter 11: The Straw That Broke...

Bill O'Reilly of the O'Reilly Factor was saying, "I feel lawyers who know their clients are guilty, should not be able to lie to the jury when making statements! That's why we have filed complaints against them with the California Bar Association. Here we have the case of where the lawyer was trying to broker a deal before the arrest of his client, in exchange for telling them where the little 7 year old girl's body was dumped!"

From Chapter 14: The Hook is Set

As he checked his bags and went through security he kept clinching and un-clinching his right fist as he thought about that 44-year old convicted child molester pretending to be a 14-year old boy while sending Emails to 13-year old girls. Then he would gain the girls confidence and suggest meeting someplace in secret without their parents knowing and it would be someplace remote... Vance was gripping his fist so hard it shook...

From Chapter 15: The Carp is Caught

Vance could hear the tapping of keys on a keyboard and heard a man talking to himself, "You stupid little fly you're caught in my web!" Vance came into the room and approached Pena from behind, Pena was pounding away at the keyboard and had the headphones blaring with the song Vance had sent him. Pena had no idea he was the fly and the spider was about to bite him right on the ass!

Vance leaned over and purposely jabbed Pena on the ass with the Taser blue arc of electricity. He jerked into a prone position and slid half off his chair with his headphones sliding sideways on his face.

From Chapter 18: The Gauntlet

They just sat there looking at one another and then Vance said, "James and Mary are God's gift to you and Manual and I know you would be absolutely destroyed if anything bad ever happened to them." Manual and Amparo grabbed each other's hands. Vance continued, "Well there are bad people in this world and they hurt children every day in this country. The worse thing about it is, the law is set up to protect the pedophile more than it does the victims! Well I'm sick of seeing these sick predators preying on helpless children without doing something about it."

From Chapter 23: Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned

Paragraph 22...

Father Paul was in his own little world; he was sure he was with one of his own, so he started to brag and started listing his conquests. Vance had to practically bite his fist to keep from screaming when he was rattling off the atrocities he had been doing in the sanctity of his church chambers.

Paragraph 26...

Vance removed the microphone and equipment and said, "Thank you Father Paul, goodbye" and he darted out and hurried down the side of the pews and out the front door. Father Paul was taken by surprise it wasn't the usual way to end the confessions, but the procedure had gone in a much different direction.
