About the Author Even as a young girl, Darlene was fond of pearly-white Cutex nail polish and strawberry flavored Lip Smackers. Anxious to discover the latest beauty tips, she worked weekends splitting and stacking cut oak for her dad's firewood business to earn money for her "Seventeen" fix. While Darlene obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Pacific, she kept abreast of makeup trends. At forty-something, she noticed the appearance of wrinkles, a double chin, and puffy cheeks. Feeling unattractive, Darlene wanted to refine her appearance without cosmetic surgery and enrolled in a makeup-contouring class.
