About the Book
This is true story about a well educated woman in the Philippines, who is a mother, a professional writer and a Newspaper editor. When she tries to obtain an annulment from her drug crazed husband, it starts a sequence of events likened to an avalanche and totally beyond her control.
It depicts the actual proceedings that transpire in this country where divorce and annulments are not looked upon favorably and the actions of a husband's attempts to keep his woman within matrimonial bounds. He plans to harm her physically, to leave her without money, to discredit and erode her character and he does this initially through a fabricated liaison with a very wealthy man. This falsely accused suitor soon becomes obsessed with her and he too begins a reign of abuse and terror on a very grand scale. The world becomes his playground and he uses psychological and physical abuse, inflicting terror in this woman's life.
The events mostly take place in the Philippines where money is but one of the tools used as a weapon against a woman who tries to gain her freedom.

Dear Sid;
JC told me the loss of Clan's income from overseas properties is from $1.7 million a year to $2 million. These properties are leased on 1-year contracts, and now have all been cancelled. I guess this is why Adolfo is at the hospital having his blood pressure monitored. I guess he has been adding up the losses and is alarmed at the total. I give him credit for having a logical mind as demonstrated when he called Chris and demanded that he resolve his personal issues with me NOW!
An update on other happenings: All phones at the rehab are now tapped as are all at the compound. Chris' nurse-plaything appears to be settled in her private life and does not contact Chris. JC arranged for the PC stalker to be out of jail and was given a job with JC's IT Department. JC has been kept quite busy in his "retirement", huh? Obviously, JC's men are still working in getting Chris "neutralized".
When JC and I talked, I suggested that Dennis also be watched and his phones tapped. This new robot for Chris can be a dangerous tool for him to use against me as exhibited last month. JC tells me that he is waiting for Chris' men to attack him as per Chris' threat, either personally or to his properties.

Dear Sid;
Chris has been using the rehab landlines trying to win back his nurse, but she must have learned how to turn her cell off. Ha!

Dear Sid;
Through rehab tapped phone lines, we learned that Chris has been talking to some "underground" people. He wants me kidnapped! He blames me for all of his troubles and is determined to "get me" for revenge. He also spoke of making JC disappear.
JC thinks I should limit functions unless very necessary and to clear everything with his top man in security. He says that he is not worried about himself, but he does worry about me and is having a conference with his top security men to discuss this present danger. He was in the process of "neutralizing" Chris but was way laid with the sabotage of the Clan's properties. Now, he asks that I keep my cell line open when my landline is engaged so that they can reach me easily.
Meanwhile, Dennis has been given big incentives to succeed in the plan of my kidnapping. He has acquired a townhouse in Manila from Chris as part of the payment already and he also has access to money for this big operation. This means new characters will be involved and will not be directly linked to Chris. Chris is being careful this time.
Background on Dennis shows he grew up rich, married to more money and has since has been operating to keep the money piling up. Being a sly, rich lawyer in this banana republic, I guess he feels that he can get away with it.
JC said he would send "warning" events to Chris to get rid of Dennis.
Somehow, JC plans a deeper penetration of investigation of each member of the Clan in order to get a better view of the "bigger picture" of this current plan. He feels there are more new characters in Chris' employ for this new project of his. He is sending a different security car for me to use today in order to confuse the other side.
Now listen to this! He is also sending a lady's gun, small but powerful and is arranging for me to go to their agency's firing range to practice and to build up stamina in actually firing it. Meanwhile, his men will teach me the basics of gun use. JC's thinking is that Chris' watchers will report that I am now armed so he will think twice about having me tackled.
I am very afraid for my life.

Dear Sid;
I am not sure what happened last night. Chris hired someone to place a bomb in the bushes near JC's house. Can you believe that? It was a good thing that JC's residence is closely watched all the time and the bomb was whisked away from the house area and it exploded in a large field nearby.
JC was at first mystified as to how these plans could have been made without the tapings picking it up. Then he remembered that Chris was in the hospital due to his food poisoning! That is where he made his plans from!
JC insisted that I and the kids go either to his island resort again or to Emilita's cottage by the sea while he will arrange to place more security devices at my place to ward off a possible bombing. I told JC I want to leave the country and he said he will work on that, meanwhile I should stay away from my place until they get it more secure. JC is glad that they are finally targeting him now. He said he would make himself very visible these upcoming days so Chris' people would be encouraged to get him. JC feels that the Clan will see to it that nothing happens to my kids. They are after all their heirs and their own blood. He plans to release to the press the activities that he plans on attending this season and that should scatter their efforts in trying to get him.
Aguilar said Adolfo is not answering nor returning his calls when he follows up on bills that he sent him. Aguilar reads this as Adolfo no longer wants to be involved in my "case" considering how people end up in ICU.
This can't be happening to me, can it?
Starting tonight I shall be with one of the kids at all times except when I am at work as this is the only way I can insure my safety from a bomb.

Dear Sid;
Getting Chris "neutralized" has happened! A delivery truck with a load of liquid gas for cooking, parked right below Chris' window at the rehab, exploded when the driver left. The two bodyguards inside his room were hurt but not as badly as Chris.
Adolfo called Theresa to notify her about this and also asked why he could not contact me. When I talked to Theresa and she passed on the news, I told her that I was not going near Chris at all, ever! Stuart was notified and he did not wish to go and see his father either. Stuart said that he would go to hear Mass for him, but that would be about it.
Chris is listed in critical condition in Baguio and Morgana was taken to the hospital in Bacolod when she heard the news and became hysterical. Adolfo was fuming about my not going to visit Chris in the hospital. I repeated to myself, "I will offer no sympathy. I will feel joyful. I will feel relieved," all the while trying to focus on my job. I have deadlines to meet and prepare a special page long report for the December 25th issue. "Better him than me! He hangs on to my money and threatens my life! He can go to hell!"
I suppose Chris thought that his room was the safest place to be! Ha! But, JC got him there! JC was laughing about Chris being in a coma. While, I am numb about everything.
I cannot even think straight anymore.
I love you and miss you.
