INTRODUCTION

The issues of life flow from the heart like poetry and become music that heals the soul. All human beings experience issues at one time or another. POEMS OF HOPE are poems written that reflect a season in my life when I experienced deep pain, broken-ness and endured long-suffering brought about when my thirty-two year marriage ended in a divorce. Although broken, I chose to live an abundant life over a spiritual death. In my broken-ness I knew that I was still whole and also very much alive. Holding on to my faith with hope, I endured much tribulation. My quest was not one of pity but instead I cried out to God for His wisdom, and for His strength to bring me through a "withering drought." It was quite clear to me that love can sometimes be over shadowed with worldly values and doomed for destruction due to the lack of God's wisdom and direction. God's gift of love is unconditional and is irrevokable.

Agape love can never be lost or destroyed. It was my love affair with Jesus and fervent pursuit of having a closer intimate relationship with Him that inspired my thoughts, revived my soul, renewed my mind, and healed my wounded heart. Praying continuously in Jesus' name was and continues to be a part of a daily commitment. Reading, searching, and meditating on His Word brought greater meaning to my life as a servant of the Gospel. When going through the storms of life, we experience challenges that may test our faith but the good news is: you shall live and not die! My blessing was to know that the joy of the Lord is my strength. Putting my trust in God into action gave me peace and unspeakable joy. Surrendering to Him in obedience in my situation and circumstance, blessed me beyond human understanding. Trust and obedience is rewarded in the end with harmony and peace which bears the desired fruit according to His will and purpose. Nothing can ever measure up to the everlasting completeness and fullness of joy that God has in store for them that love Him. I am forever thankful for the love of God, His Son Jesus Christ, and also for a devoted loving family.
