About the Author Al Hillix (official name William A. Hillix) is a retired Professor of Psychology who taught most of his life at San Diego State University after teaching high school English and returning to the University of Missouri for his Ph.D. degree. He has been a Visiting Professor at Michigan State University and the University of Leiden in Holland, and has served as Department Chairman at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and at San Diego University. His publications include many journal articles and four editions of a textbook, Systems and theories in psychology. Since his retirement he has developed a web site, www.healthinmind.com (or www.mentesana.com) with a former student, Dr. Silvia Bigatti, and his wife, Dr. Terry Cronan. He also writes stories about his early life on the farm, and has written five other Brownie Bear stories.
