Introduction

The story begins in 1973 when a returning Vietnam veteran, U.S. Air Force intelligence officer Captain Charles Brock, is assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a specialist in aerospace investigation.

He is assigned to an official team whose primary function is to investigate, identify, and confirm UFO reported sightings. Brock's investigations lead to the discover of a cover-up by ranking officers. His theft of official files for disclosure involves his being reassigned to a top secret U.S. defense project deep into the Colorado Mountains.

The project, "Operation Bright Angel," known only to the President of the United States and a few top military officials and civilian officials, is empowered to override the final decision to activate US major air and sea commands. Retaliation orders to strike lies solely with the project's Commanding General and the President himself.

The primary and sole purpose of Operation Bright Angel, is to protect the United States and its allies against nuclear attack. Including the use of other weapons of mass destruction. The covert development and operation of the project includes hidden bases, a group of secret saucer-crafts, and a very sophisticated weaponry system.

The climax is a confrontation between Operation Bright Angel and a major nuclear world power. The President, who discloses the existence of this project, announces the successful mission to a startled world once the nuclear holocaust is thwarted.
