About the Book
Biography of Walter Sydney Adams, astronomer who was one of the 'four horsemen' of the apocalyptic saga of the making of the Mount Wilson and Palomar observatories. He, along with George Ellery Hale, Andrew Carnegie and Edwin Hubble, was instrumental in the creation and maturing of both observatories.
About the Author Author Sue Kelly Adams was Adams' daughter-in-law. As such, she inherited custody of many documents and photographs that memorialized Adams' illustrious career; such as numerous PhD's and awards. The text was developed on the basis of extensive material now in local libraries, such as "Edwin Hubble" by Dale Christianson and "The Perfect Machine" by Ronald Florence.
