Introduction
This book is a tribute to an elite group of individuals and a call to action for others. I openly pay tribute to several people who have been instrumental in my development and pursuit to excel. Yet, I also want to make an appeal to others. My appeal is simple. I ask that women begin to make special efforts to network and support each other. As we come together as a collective body to share experiences, cultivate relationships and utilize resources, we create a powerful equation.

On more than one occasion, I have been inspired to document the positive impact of several people in my life. Initially, I was moved by the willing spirit and selfless acts of these particular people to help me on my journey. Later, I was moved by an increased level of frustration resulting from the lack of support and camaraderie among many women I have encountered while on this path. On so many occasions, I witnessed a variety of male bashing sessions, and I felt it would be meaningful to share my story. It is my desire to spark a light of hope among other women and serve as a source of motivation. For these reasons, I decided to share excerpts of my brief and simple journey.

I wanted to pay tribute to this elite group of men because it was their actions and support that cracked open doors of opportunity for me. Some prayed and some shared words of encouragement. Some took the time to provide specific consultation while others simply shared a lunch hour to give advice. I know that God strategically placed these special people in my life and I am very grateful.

************

Although it is important for me to recognize these special men, it becomes more important for me to work harder to share with other women and encourage the building of a strong support system for my sisters. I am committed to making a difference and I hope that the contents of these pages will encourage others to explore ways to change their thinking and behaviours. Recognizing that it is all right to be competitive, assertive and resourceful, I truly hope that more women will band together and support each other. Together we can encourage, support, congratulate and applaud each other.

I hope that through my sharing, others will be inclined to strive to build better bridges and networks, particularly among women. This is not to imply that I have not had valued relationships and support of other women. Nor does it imply that I have not encouraged or given support to other women. My sharing is designed to depict how fragmented those influences have been and to simply illustrate how I have been able to achieve professional and personal goals with the tremendous support of males both family and friends. I know that it was nothing special about me but all about the special qualities and abilities of my guardian angels. They have positively impacted my life and the lives of so many others. For that favor, I am forever grateful.

I recognize that many opportunities and a great deal of guidance have come as a result of several good folks who happened to be men. I often reflect back on the many episodes of guidance and advice given to me. I say thank you my angels in suits. However, I am more focused on my role in influencing the ways in which women can network, advise, and assist other women. I certainly want to share my guardian angels with them, but I want to engage in a more primary role helping women achieve and pursue their dreams.
