About the Author The Annie Wittenmyer Project was a result of a Pennsylvania Digital Grassroots Grant given to the enrichment students of Pottsgrove Middle School. The students researched the life of Annie Wittenmyer, Civil War heroine. With the assistance of Civil War re-enactors, a local historian, and team of teachers, they created a website and documentary video. Annie's Mission is based mainly on Annie's autobiography A Woman's Reminiscences of the Civil War. These five eighth grade students have written this book as a conclusion to their work on this project. They are fourteen years old and attend Pottsgrove Middle School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Tiffany Boatman enjoys reading, surfing and basketball. She is also very active in the youth group at her church. Tiffany wants to be a linguist, and become an FBI agent. Kristen Kohler enjoys singing, playing tennis, running track, reading and writing. She wants to have a career in either zoology or crimefighting. Becky Lindgren likes to write, act in school plays and run track. In the future she would like to be a homicide detective and a novelist. Jimmy Miller enjoys playing basketball, soccer and acting. He aspires to act professionally or go into the field of medicine. Anthony Pellechio enjoys drawing and playing the drums. He would like to be either a cartoonist or a professional drummer in his own band.
