About the Book I take the reader on a roller coaster of emotions from the very first chapter when I describe the uncertain and often turbulent childhood of my brother Ronnie and me. This story is of an unmatched, unrivalled and loving bond between siblings and shows the adversity we came through together at key moments of our lives. I felt that it was necessary in the early stages of the book to show the reader certain aspects of our upbringing in order for the 'bigger picture' to emerge later. Ronnie went on to become actively involved in amateur dramatics and was well known and loved by theatre audiences of Aberdeen, Scotland. Tragically he became seriously ill at the age of 45 and was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Though we never knew it at the time, doctors gave him only weeks to live. However, on hearing the word 'terminal' I wasted no time in deciding to help Ronnie. That's when I discovered Reiki and my spiritual path in life. My story goes on to describe Ronnie's case history and the methods of healing, which he received through me. Though Ronnie enjoyed a period of remission and lived for a further two years, his life was indeed cut short. Yet my story does not end there. Reiki transformed my life in countless ways. I have detailed the many insights and realisations I had regarding death and the afterlife during the time Ronnie was receiving his therapies and since his passing. My finding will hopefully leave the reader with the thought that there is no such thing as separation at death and that there is most definitely more to experience after this life. About the Author Divine Timing is Carol's first literary work, but hopefully not her last. Married to Grant for the last eighteen years and the proud mother of Paul, Scott and Danielle has kept her on her toes, but she has always found the time to do art commissions. As a dedicated mother and homemaker she considers herself lucky to have also been able to produce and sell her artworks from home. Her life changed radically when her brother, Ronnie, became seriously ill. In order to help him she became 'attuned' and studied Reiki I and Reiki II with Elizabeth Harley, Reiki Master as her teacher in Aberdeen. She went on to become 'attuned' as a Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master, with the encouragement of Hazel Raven, International Reiki Master, who was also her distance tutor for Crystal Therapy. In the time she spent helping Ronnie to heal she achieved Diplomas and certification in the following: Crystal Therapy: ECVM distance learning course (European College of Vibrational Medicine) Anatomy and Physiology Indian Head Massage S.A.C. Dip. (Stonebridge Associated Colleges) Neuro Psychological Immunology S.A.C. Dip. The Sidereus Healing Technique S.A.C. Dip. "As I sat wiping away my tears Ronnie told me to hold out my hand. Into my palm he placed a ring. I couldn't speak as I realised it was our mum's gold ring. He said that he had been keeping it to give to me at the right moment. He also gave me a pendant that belonged to mum. It had a prayer on it about acceptance, courage and wisdom. I read it through silently to myself and thought how lovely it sounded. I would discover the true depth and importance of the words on that pendant nearly two decades into the future. (More importantly, at that future date I would fully understand how those words would seem to have been sent directly from mum in spirit.)"

'Ronnie said that he always felt better after my visits, and I believe now that it was due to the positive attitude I brought along with me. Sometimes I would encourage him to sit in the sunshine and he would watch me work hard at pulling weeds from his garden. One of those times I used a clever psychological way to instil the thought in him that it wasn't only the weeds in his garden that I was removing. I told him that the cancer he had created was also being removed. I explained to him that what we 'saw' in our reality 'outside of us' was actually a replica of what was 'inside'. The world is truly a mirror for us. Ronnie's garden was covered in weeds and needed much work, I was certain that his mind must be equally 'chaotic'. So his soon to be weed-free garden was showing him how the cancerous growth within him was being eradicated. It wasn't long before he was pointing out all of the areas in his house as well as in his garden that he knew needed fixing, and even lending me a hand to the best of his ability.'

'I kept up the Reiki and Crystal therapies relentlessly, hoping that it would give Ronnie all the 'extra' energy he would need for his next stage performance. One time when I was doing some gardening for him he came out to watch me and I noticed that he had his hands placed over his stomach, rather like he was giving himself healing. I made some comment to the fact that it looked like he was giving himself Reiki and he said that when he placed his hands on himself in this way it gave him some comfort. Sometimes it even helped remove some of the discomfort or pain he felt. Later that day I wrote to Hazel about this and her return e-mail explained that Ronnie must have been receiving some sort of 'angelic healing' because he didn't channel Reiki yet. I found this very interesting and so did Ronnie when I told him. Perhaps it also gave him some food for thought about receiving a future 'attunement'.'
