About the Book
This story is pure fiction. It is about a detective, Wally Bishop, and a gang leader, Fredrick Solano. The gang has committed disrespect, robbery and murder within the city of Shinook for their survival. One of their murders was of the parents of Wally Bishop. Wally was an only child and was deeply hurt, so he changed his career from law to become a private eye in order to find his parents' murderer. It is a moving story with much action, feeling and strategy to help one overcome the urge to make the wrong decision and end up on the wrong side of the law.
About the Author
The author has been a high school English teacher for many years. During her teaching career, she has encouraged and coached students to enter essays, short stories, speech and debating competitions. The results have been extremely rewarding to these students and some of them have been published by the Writers Guild. She also has encouraged the writing process among other students.
Through this grew the idea of writing and publishing her own work and the resulting novel, Ace of Diamonds, is her first achievement.
Also, she has met numerous teacher-writers among staff in various schools, whose inspiration helped to light the fire of inspiration of becoming a writer.
The author is not only a novelist, but also a poet. She has written for many church groups and other associations that have been published abroad.The author hopes this novel will become a major teaching tool in all schools to assist teenagers and guide them to find their places in our world.
