About the Book

The book discusses the three universal rules that children need to follow for safety reasons on any class trip. The central character is a boy named Jason who does not follow the rules and is thus placed in the most unfortunate position of learning the reasons for rules via first-hand experience. Fortunately, in the end, Jason's experience makes him an expert on class trip rules and his teacher provides him an opportunity to demonstrate his new knowledge.

About the Author

Bruce R.Thompson has been teaching preschoolers for nearly 20 years. The book Class Trip Ruleswas originally a flannel board story which he devised to explain the 3 rules his students would need to follow and know during a class trip. With a few modifications the flannel board story was used again and again each time he took his students out into the world because the rules always stayed the same. With that insight he moved forward to publish the book in the hopes that the story of Jason would provide a useful way for teachers and parents to teach their children how to stay safe on class trips.

Bruce holds a Masters degree in Child Care Administration and Youth Programs and is a certified teacher in NewJersey. He wrote and teaches a course at Brookdale Community College, NJ, titled, Music in Early Childhood.
