About the Author From a very early age I was exposed to the art form called; OPERA. This was mainly due to the influence of my father, who was an avid opera lover. Later in my life I became more interested in opera, as I listened to the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts, which were heard for twenty weeks, each year. From these broadcasts, I learned the music and stories of the operas themselves. I was also an avid learner as I listened to distinguished musicians, composers, singers, and conductors, who explained in detail the intricacies of opera, and the appeal it has on its audience, world wide. Through the years I have attended countless performances, listened to thousands of complete operas, read about the subject, extensively, and have been involved in many discussions about this art form. This then was my education on opera. As a result, when I retired to Florida, I dedicated myself to promoting this art form by giving opera courses, in the local schools. I gave lectures and made presentations to cultural and civic organizations. The culmination of this life long passion of opera was the writing of this book OPERA THE COMPLETE ART FORM. In this book I tried to be accurate with my facts, where the stories originated, brief biographies of the composers, and historical facts, if the characters are historical. Another segment is the origin and history of opera. In this section I have illustrated when and how opera began, and its evolution through its four hundred year history. I believe that this book will be informative as well as entertaining to all who read it, and it will prove that opera is the complete art form.
