About the Author
Candy D. Burton, DVM, was born in Missouri and after receiving her undergraduate degree she graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. She lives and practices in Tuscon, Arizona. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and a Certified Veterinary Chiropractitioner. Her work during her over 20 years of practice has been very diverse. She owned a practice for 14 years, working on dogs and cats, using traditional western medicine and bridging the gap with Eastern medicine. Additionally, she has done extensive emergency work and work as a veterinarian for a Humane Society.
She created Soup Or Art Prose as her writing company in 1999 when she first wrote Kady Goes to the Doctor. Presently, while she continues to practice veterinary medicine, she is currently working on a "Kady" series to act as an educational tool for children. Future books are to include "Kady Goes to the Emergency Room", "Kady Loses a Friend", and "Kady Adopts a Brother". She uses Kady for the education of children on not only what a veterinarian does, and perhaps for them to consider a career in veterinary medicine. "Kady Loses a Friend" will be a book about grief to help educate children on sadness and loss. Besides, children's books, she is currently working on a book for the new graduate veterinarian.
