About the Book

Molly longs for a puppy, like her last dog Duke. She remembers the good times they had together but she has forgotten about his mischievous acts. Even though her father says, "There will be no more dogs in this house," she dreams about a dog. In order to attain her goal, she decides to be persistent with her father. Her persistence takes some unexpected turns as she tries to achieve her goal.

About the Author

Excerpts

Excerpt 1

Molly's hands rested under her chin as she thought of Dad's last words. Surely, Dad hadn't been serious when he told her, "There will be no more dogs in this house."

Excerpt 2

While Molly went to the ladies' room, Mom walked Libby. Then it was Molly's turn to stay with the puppy. She took Libby along a dog path. As the two walked, the puppy almost pulled Molly's arm off. When Molly headed back to meet Mom, Libby sniffed every bush. Then all of a sudden, Molly's puppy stopped walking. She bolted ahead of Molly, taking the leash with her. Molly pumped her legs as fast as she could, but she couldn't catch Libby. The puppy dashed ahead to play with another puppy in the woods.

Molly tried to catch Libby, but her pup ran faster. Finally, Molly's dog and the other dog disappeared completely.
