About the Book

This book is a basic instruction manual for home crafters or beginning doll and puppet makers who want to work with air-dry materials. There are special instructions for working with Creative Paperclay and paper mache. This is doll and puppt sculpture in its simplest form. The process was field tested for ten years with high school art students and special instructions for classroom teachers are included in the text. There are no molds, kilns or heavy financial outlays involved in this project. This is a wonderful, inexpensive, high interest craft for both adults and kids.

Along with complete written instructions for a simple beanbag doll or puppet the author has provided worksheets, patterns and photographs to show every stage of the work. This book was written by a teacher for teachers and crafters who are not advanced dollmakers and who need a starting point well back from the professional dollmaker's starting line.

About the Author

The author has worked for many years as an artist, illustrator and teacher. She has degrees in both art and education administration but prefers to spend her spare time writing children's books and sculpting dolls. She currently lives and works in Yucca Valley, California.
