About the Book
Reading this novel will perhaps remind many people of their personal love story or the love story of someone they know. It is about situations that occur in reality but not spoken about due to its sensitive nature.
Ned was a young man with strong character, determination and will-power, who came from an average Asian family to study nursing in United Kingdom to better himself. However, his experiences with life and love has taught him how differently one can be treated covertly. He was in love with Kay and she was in love with him too. But then what happened? Was it love or was it lust. This mixed race love story, "all men are equal until..." is a must for readers.

Chapter 14:
They were there physically and somewhere else spiritually. Kay was thinking about her future without Ned and how difficult it would be to get used to going out and sleeping with white men again. To her it was different ways of living, talking, having sex and thinking compared to the standard boring ways she knew. For Kay, going out with Ned was a spicy way to live, always full of surprises and never a dull moment. She was thinking about the changes she would have to put up with when it was over with Ned but she was determined to make it last for as long as possible as she knew deep down that she could not go anywhere near the subject of 'marriage'. Whereas Ned's thoughts were different. Ned was in love with Kay and was not even thinking about what he would feel like to be with someone else when it would be over with Kay. In fact, the end of his relationship with Kay never even crossed his mind. He was thinking about ways he could adopt to convince Kay's parents about accepting people from different culture and race, indifferent of colour. Ned knew that colour was the biggest issue although Kay did not make it that clear to him. As in the past Kay had a boyfriend who was from a rich Greek family and was adored by her parents because he was white and of course was rich. They were in fact looking into and perhaps Kay's reconciliation with the Greek boyfriend so that there would be a possible engagement and may be a wedding. With that bit of important information Ned knew exactly what the problem was. He was not black but fair and handsome enough for all the girls to run after him. However, from that day Ned psychologically conditioned himself and he was always ready for the unexpected. He was always ready for disappointment, but for him what mattered was that he loved Kay and knew that Kay loved him too (or at least she said so many times).
After resting with Kay and having a good think of the situation he went to his room and continued with his work. Ned was restless in bed that night. He could not find peace and was constantly thinking. He got up at 5 in the morning and got ready for college and from then onwards listened to some Indian love music until it was time for breakfast. He went to the canteen and waited for Kay. They met and after breakfast Ned decided to tell Kay of his decision. ''Kay, I love you very much, you know that. But having had a good think about the whole situation I have come to the conclusion that we should split up in order to avoid further hurt and distress to you and myself'' said Ned to Kay. Kay looked at him in the eyes. She could tell that Ned has not slept all night as his eyes were red and swollen which was unlike him. She looked at him continuously and was trying to understand the situation that she knew clearly, and there was no one better placed than Kay to know what was expected in the future. Yet she burst in tears and walked away. In the coach they sat separately. Although very sad they did not say a word to anyone and continued with their day as if there was nothing unusual. They got back in the evening. At night Kay's slot in the schedule was empty as she was not there, and they were both feeling empty and they were both missing each other. Ned was determined not to go to see Kay and with his discipline he was sticking by it. Whereas Kay, although she knew that there was a lot of emotional turmoil expected yet she was ready to stick with Ned for as long as she could and make the most of the time she had with him. So as she did not see any reaction from Ned, she decided to go and clear the air.
She knocked at Ned's door. Once, twice, and three times, there was no reply. She knew Ned would be in, so she pushed the door and let herself in. In her mind she had to be with him. So she got in and took herself to Ned's bed and sat next to him. ''Darling I know what you mean but don't you think that it is useless to make such decisions at this time?'', asked Kay. Ned had no reply, as anything he would say would be no good, as he loved her. While Kay did not get a reply, she leaned on Ned and kissed him. Ned did not speak a word for the entire evening and Kay seduced him like never before and they had wonderful sex with passion. Kay had the best orgasm of her life. She came twice in a matter of minutes. After sex she held Ned on top of her and cried. ''I love you so much. I do not know what there is in the future but I want to be with you, I know that'', said Kay. She held Ned tighter to her and cried for a long time. Ned was quiet. He held her tight to reassure her but did not know what to do anymore. All he knew was that he loved her * and * he loved her * and * would always love her. He was not confused but did not know how to deal with this situation. He never had such experience before where he had to deal with mixed race relationship although they were of the same religion. He just let himself go and made his mind that he would carry on as if there was no issues and that he would take a risk. If it would work out then great and if it did not then he had to face up with the consequences. He was strong and he knew that if it went to pieces then he would have to let go of Kay no matter how much he loved her and no matter how much it hurt. He did not say a word to Kay regarding this issue and fell asleep. Kay left late from Ned's room. She left a note on the table reading:
"Dear love,
Thank you for a magnificent evening and thank you for being with me. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I am fond of you and will always love you. See you for breakfast tomorrow.
Love you.
Kay."
They did not stay away from each other and as usual they could not keep their hands off each other. Sex every night and day, sometimes three times a day but definitely every day. They were both healthy and attractive so they never got bored as they tried out their various fantasies and anything they could think of to make sex wild with passion. Any time anyone would visit Ned or Kay they would be either naked or they would be in their dressing gown. They were well-known and were the desire of the nurse's home. Most girls wanted and would do anything to have Ned for one night and the same with Kay and men. However, then onwards things went very well except when college holidays approached and they started missing each other
