About the Book

This book is the first in a series that illustrates the old parental saying, "I need more than two hands." This is a story of Harriet the Octopus, who through clever anthropomorphization (phew, that was a big word) depicts Mom with eight hands. Harriet can do it all...and she can do it all at the same time! Or can she? Children will learn that although Mom wants to do it all...at the same time- she just physically can't. They will see that being patient and learning to do things for themselves will keep the dance of life moving along a bit smoother! So...what if My Dad Were a Daddy Long Legs?

About the Author

Deb Lemon discovered her love for storytelling when she became a mother. Before that she studied and practiced environmental engineering (not much room for creativity and story telling!). Together with her sister, Carolyn Intemann, they have created charming characters that depict the busy daily dance of life with children. Deb's life with her husband John and two children, Rae and Ben, largely influence the roles of their characters. Deb and Carolyn Intemann both reside in their native state of Colorado. Carolyn Intemann's art has graced the walls of many children's rooms and she now teaches college art history and humanities.
