About the Book
This is a workbook for children to work through gently every day, with all instructions to parents or caregivers inside. The course supersimplifies the learning task so little kids experience success every day and understand what is going on easily and naturally. Letters are introduced one at a time, the sound the letter makes is explained by a logical story (eg. cc is curl, ss is snake) and only lower case is taught. Poems, songs and visual memory devices help the child remember the letters and then put them together to form words of increasing complexity. In this way the child is led into skills to read around 500 words and only then is instruction given in the upper case letters, again with stories of how they grew. (b got a new bump, B) More information is at the author's website at www.anchorsandsails.com
