A note from the author:

I cook. I entertain. I collect recipes from everywhere. And I do not have a perfect memory.

I published this book because I wanted a copy. My friends all wanted one. I've wasted hours looking in cookbooks and loose-leaf folders for one specific recipe. I couldn't remember the name or where I found it the first time…but I remembered it was a good one!

We get recipe ideas from so many sources these days - cooking shows, the internet, great restaurants, magazines, Grandma, and the list goes on. I needed a way to keep track of them.

I also wanted a place to record the names of wines I've come across - again from various sources. Soaking labels was something I never got around to…writing the information in this book works for me.

And keeping track of what I've served to whom, and when, was another challenge. With the Event Journal portion of this book I keep a record of the who, what, when and where of get-togethers and holidays. I love looking back at parties I've hosted with this reminder of what worked well and notes of what did not.

This book belongs in every kitchen to help the organized cook keep track of the many details and memories. It is my sincere hope that you will love it, use it and perhaps pass it on as an heirloom to the next family chef!
