About the Author Irene Steenhagen was born in Estcourt Natal, South Africa. Her parents are Dutch and Irene is a first generation South African. She works as an Electronics Engineer at a large telecommunication company. Together with her love of "gadgets", she has a great love for people and the natural ways of healing. Irene has a diploma in Aromatherapy from the Lillian Terry School of Aromatherapy and is a Reiki Master. Her love for Aromatherapy and Essential oils is of such a nature that she feels that every person on this planet should experience this wonderful healing art. To her, these plants and oils represent the magic that Mother Earth provides in the form of natural medicine. As well as her Diploma in Aromatherapy, Irene has a Higher National Diploma for Technicians (Btek) and a MCSE. She has experience giving Reiki workshops and has talked at women's clubs on Reiki and Aromatherapy.
