Excerpt
It was 22nd of July 2003, when Mohammed who was supposed to a relative of the Hussein's. He was a contractor and he went to the U.S. Army. He knew there was a price on the sons of Saddam Hussein, but he had to be sure. In the past his brother was jailed under Saddam Hussein. Now he felt he would get even, and even be paid for his humble services. It was his day at last, and he knew he had to take it. He couldn't be scared. He had to give all the information he knew. But first he would have to make sure all the bounty money would be paid to him if everything went according to plan. He sat in front of an Army officer.
"Sir, I have some information about the Hussein's sons," Mohammed said nervously.
"You do?" the officer asked him.
"Yes, sir. I have it all here," Mohammed said, pointing to his brain. The officer knew the elderly Iraqi man had the information they had been waiting on, and he took the man to see his superior officer in another room.
"Sir, this man has some information about the Hussein's sons. He would like to talk to you." The officer showed the Iraqi man to a chair in front of the General.
"Sir, thank you for coming. So you have some information about the Hussein's sons?" the tall commanding officer asked.
"Yes, I do. But before I can tell you anything, I would like to know about the rewards," Mohammed said.
"Yes, there are rewards for the Hussein's sons of 15 million on each son, and 25 million on the father, Saddam Hussein."
"So if I give you information on the sons, I would be entitled to the rewards on the sons?"
"Yes, you would be entitled to the rewards. That is of course if the information is correct, and the Hussein's sons are caught or killed by the information you are going to give us," the commanding officer explained. Mohammed was told that he would get the rewards if the information he was going to give proved to be correct. Yet he couldn't believe he would get all that money - he would be rich forever he thought.
"You sit and give us all the information you know. We have been after those thugs for a long time. Now I hope we get them."
"Thank you," Mohammed said.
"Now what you know, sir?"
"Officer, I know the Hussein's for a long time. 23 days ago the two sons came to me, and they wanted me to hide them in one of my properties. I didn't want to cause any trouble. They had guns and they meant business. They would kill anyone who came near to them. They are in one of my properties. I will show you," Mohammed explained.
"You are sure it is the Hussein's sons?"
"Yes, sir, I know them from small boys. I am sure. You get them. Make me rich. These men are bad. You need to get them," Mohammed said.
"It is not the reward?" the commanding officer asked. Mohammed smiled.
"I need the reward."
"You take us to the house and we will do the rest," the commanding officer said.
"Yes, I will do that,": Mohammed said.
The commanding officer shook hands with Mohammed. Then the officer took him out of the office. He then got a detail to go with Mohammed and he showed them the house, so now everything was left up to the Marines to get the Hussein's sons.
"They are inside the house," Mohammed said.
"Thank you for all the information," the officer told him. "We will take you home. We will follow up and surround the house, and I promise you we will take them out."
"Take them out, so I get reward," Mohammed said.
