Excerpts
INTRODUCTION
The world we live in today is an apocalypse of how mankind reaches the epitome of civilization when at the same time reveals the animal instincts embedded in him and which, even after thousands of years of his creation, still control his behavior.
On the other hand, and with the advent of media reaching every home on the planet, we tend to believe that all continents have become one. But is this true? On one end of the sphere you see people enjoying wealth and freedom while on the other they are suffering from starvation, wars and authoritarian rules. Yet we are all one people, descended from one God.
Religion, whatever it may be, had been formulated to teach us a way of life, the good way of life, to create law and order, to learn the real meaning of love and fairness. In contrast, some nations use it as a tool to stir up trouble, topple governments and instigate massacres. Is this the art of hypocrisy or are we really that naïve as to believe that this God clenches war against the other God? When in fact most religions claim to have the one and only God.
Over the last two decades the world economy has more or less changed to be termed global economy, that even nation states supportive of centrally planned economies have moved to market socialism and let go of much of their national sovereignty, fears and controls, which they long believed would entice political conflicts and environmental burdens. Nevertheless, politics is still the tool that governs any economy worldwide. The advantages of course of open markets and international trade free economies are countless; last but not least they create jobs and provide aids to weaker and needy nations. But again we ask ourselves, if capitalism were the best solution to our problems then why do super economies like Japan, the United States and Europe plunge to their lowest levels in a matter of weeks, one affecting the other? Why do our best planners and thinkers not foresee stock market crashes but do advise us on how to invest our money and then how to rectify our mistakes?
Do you imagine that it would be a better world if all nations became one, if all the earth's resources and wealth were distributed equally, if all currencies united into one currency. Perhaps I would no more blame God if I were born in stricken Africa instead of oil rich Saudi Arabia. Europe for instance has recently united, not for the welfare of the other states though, but for the need to survive politically, economically and remain powerful enough against possible threat from the present superpower.
The objective of this book is to highlight the current issues and problems we are facing today and to offer a possible yet simple philosophy of solutions to living in a better world constituted of finer justice, better rule, equal rights and leading to peace and love that may be our children or grandchildren may experience. After all, God has given man the capacity to explore other planets; surely he (man) has the means and knowledge to reach the above goal, while holding to his integrity, religious belief and ambitious ideals.
Wishing you good reading and God bless.
THE SCIENCE OF PEACE: RESOLUTION OF CONFLICTS
The principal science to assure the health of society is the pacification of all conflicts. This pacification depends on justice, that is the meticulous and impartial examination of multiple witnesses (as a single witness has no value), and their verification and confrontation in plain daylight.
Nobody should insinuate or accuse others without having supported proofs, so that the accused is able to defend himself. This method is the only means of preventing slander, false witnesses, secret declarations, spiteful allusions, duplicity, bad language, and all manifestations that poison the atmosphere of the community. And that are hard to combat. The science of conflicts is the essential science of every leader. Instead of obligingly listening to rumors and being influenced without verification, he must verify everything with tireless energy and passionate research of justice, in the name of uprightness, the clarity and the elimination of hypocrisy and false witnesses, which is the greatest crime against peace and humanity.
However, for there to be possible peace, there needs to be a just authority. For the modern society suffers from two big ailments: The disappearance of the notion of justice, or at least the desire to find what is just, and the disappearance of any real authority. May be these two deficiencies are interconnected. For a leader to really fulfill his duties, he must have an ideal, and must be convinced that there is a difference between a right decision and a wrong decision. The latter being susceptible of creating a large number of victims. If he is in this form of spirit, he will examine minutely all matters, in order to obey the insistence of his conscience, hence not only will he acquire authority, but also the effectiveness of his deeds will be an educative example to his personnel.
But if this leader is convinced that there is neither justice nor injustice, if he remains indifferent to victims of bad decisions or negligence, his narrow mindedness will be in order with his superiors/predecessors to avoid troubles, and he will let all affairs drag to eternity. Innumerable protests will result, and a sentiment of bad conscience will be born in him, an abused skepticism, which will in turn reflect into a discredit of his job and to the health of society.
Furthermore, the same lack of authority due to a deficiency of convictions and disregard of the just and unjust can ruin not only the social functioning but also education and intellectual production. Let us suppose that a professor does not make the effort to educate his students, or does not expose them to discipline and the search for truth, impeccable methods and intellectual honesty. The students will no more be guided by the love of work but by the lure of positions. A spirit of delusion and intrigue will result poisoning the work atmosphere. If say, a genius happens to be amongst this group, capable of making discoveries. It will be impossible for him to work and devote all his efforts while defending himself against the intrigues. Thus the reason behind the subsidence of scientific discoveries is linked more often to moral causes. It is not enough to provide the material things for a researcher; it is also necessary to secure an honest environment for him, without pressuring him into intrigues and delusion. To reach this goal, we need leaders who discourage intrigues by their sentiments of justice and impartiality, and by this enjoy the moral authority, without which no healthy society can last. Every leader must effectively verify by himself and control the functioning of his services to realize peace and justice, an inexorable condition for the well being of social peace.
Social Defense The development and moral education crisis has carried along with it a considerable increase in delinquency, which has resulted in a series of measures of social defense. The notion of responsibility must be respected and mitigated, and sanctions under the form of segregations and reeducation must be imposed; which by ignoring payments for faults incurred could become much more painful because they could take the arbitrary form of removal of judicial guaranties, and hence, not take the consideration of moral conscience.
THE WORLD OWES AMERICA
When the United States was attacked on September 11 2001, it took the decision to retaliate, by invading Afghanistan and ridding it of the Taliban Rule. It not only did Afghans a big favor, but the whole world by cleaning terrorism and Islamic fundamentalists from terrorizing our planet. In April 2003, together with Great Britain, they invaded Iraq and rid them of a 25 years dictatorial regime. Then, many European and other countries did not follow suit. They had forgotten that America saved Europe in the Second World War, and sacrificed 300.000 of its own people. They also forgot that the US helped build Europe. People of this new generation only hear or study about the second world war, many do not know the fact that 50 million people died in a period lasting less then 5 years, 20 millions of which were Russians. So not only Iraqis and Afghans owe America a lot, but the whole world.
Furthermore the US is the largest donator to the developing world. We also owe America for the Internet revolution it created and let every single person be able to take advantage of it. If it were another nation that created the Internet revolution it would have kept it for itself; unlike America that serves the world in every human beneficial cause.
In fact, the US is the only nation in history that has held the leadership in technology, military power, economy and culture all at the same time.
Technology: Computer, Telecommunication, space etc.
Military power: Not only It has the most sophisticated weapons ever, but is the only superpower capable of transporting military hardware and personnel across the globe in the shortest of time.
Economy: The richest by far, whether in industry, trade, marketing, franchising, global domination etc.
Culture: By this is meant art, mass media, public administration and language. Although in art, the Greek and Roman empires were always leaders in previous eras (sculpture, painting, construction).
No wonder Europe envies the US as a real hyper power. And so what if we are witnessing the birth of an American empire that is contributing to peace and freedom everywhere. The fact is that there will always be people who are critical about anything and everything. Even if the US fails in some strategies, it is not God after all (although some Americans believe that God is of the same nationality!).
With regards to the Iraqi issue, the strategy of a force-keeping task was erroneous. It is not the army's role. The US should have delegated this power to the Iraqi army instead of fragmenting it. That is what the Romans, Turkish, French and English Empires used to do, and still hold control of land and people etc. Iraqis (at least some factions) are committing a very big error in not letting the US develop their country. First they lose the war, and then start retaliating by terrorist attacks killing mostly their own people. Ironic, isn't it?
What's more, while America is busy installing a permanent base on the moon so that ordinary people can perhaps visit in 15 years, Europeans are still bragging about their past history, and the rest of the world is still debating whether Saddam Hussein was captured before he was shown live on television!
