No more Operation Martz or Chien Hoi or Song Tri Vai, River.

No more call to Jayhawk for dust off.

No more 48 hours combat patrol at Binh Son Rubber Plantation,

No more Recon or Ambush patrols around Phouc Tho.

No more mine-sweeping missions.

No more securing road clearing operation and dodging sniper fi re,

No more Operation Big Spring including: river crossing site, tunnels, sampan, huts, bunkers, V.C. base camp or moving truck and automobile parts.

No more moving rice from one place to another.

No more Operation Riley, Tinh Bien Hoa province or search and destroy missions.

No more moving through the jungle from a hot LZ to a safe LZ.

No more looking over my shoulder or looking for suspicious individuals while in small villages or even Saigon.

No more listening to fellow soldiers sounds of fear or hurt.

No more looking at empty bunks in my barracks.

No more trying to stay dry from the rain or stay warm from the cold nights in the jungle.

Finally, no more sleeping with a loaded rifle next to you!

There are still sleepless nights but no more Viet Cong!!

Thank God it's over and for blessing me to survive such an ordeal!
