About the Book

This is the true story about a well-educated woman, who is a mother, a professional writer and a newspaper editor. When she obtains a writers' grant to the US, she finds herself medically kidnapped by her trusted family. This book begins shortly after her arrival from the US where she tries again to find peace and love amidst continual stalking by her ex-husband and rich suitor, intrigues, email spying, and phone tapping. Betrayed by those she thought she could trust, she no longer knows who to trust in her struggle to escape back to the US.

Her editorial job at a newspaper is eliminated upon her return. She is resilient and keeps going with freelance opportunities. Her trusted family then cuts off all access to her money at the business which she co-owns.

Her elderly 'suitor', who wanted to portray her protector, dies and his son then pursues her with romantic intentions.

This twisted chain of events creates disillusionment and visions of gross mistrust with respect to who can really help her. Rendering her powerless seems to be the "name of the game" where she will have to depend on someone of greater power to rescue her.

Her female writer friends aid her in finding a safe and secure place as well as a network to sort out all these 'false intentions' of various characters.

A sequel to The Caging of Kassandra, Kassandra hold on to her lifeline in the internet, hoping for destiny to be stronger than all that conspire to hold her down.

Dear Sid

I am back in Bacolod!

I have not been able to communicate with you for 4 months now. I miss you deeply and I will try to fill you in on the details you missed while I was in LA as they come to me in some state of recollection.

I developed a skin allergy that was most horrible and maddening on the last week of January. They brought me to a doctor but nothing really worked since the skin rash was getting worse in coverage and redness and thickness over my body. The itchiness was maddening. Although I was given a two-week medication program, nothing made it better and sleeping became more impossible, despite my sleeping pills.

At this point in time, we have already transferred to the huge new house (6 bedrooms with 3 family rooms) in Augusta. Over here, there had been more guards to watch me that I despaired over being able to do what we planned for my escaped from LA When the skin rash was on its second week and the medication I was taking hardly helped in reducing the spread of the skin rash and its itchiness, the idea of going back to my own doctor in Bacolod was the most logical thing to do.

I was agreeable then to the idea, suggested by Tyra, that I consult my own doctor in Bacolod for my skin allergy that was getting worse. Besides the expiration of my entry as tourist in your country was fast approaching and we had not been able to change my visa despite expressed intents on this by Tyra. Hence, I left LA on February 5 and arrived in Bacolod on February 7.

It is only now that my allergy has finally gone except for small red spots on my shoulders. I have not seen Rudy yet and I heard that JC is in his death throes. I still don't know what really happened to him.

I presently live in Theresa's house and we have kept my arrival a secret as much as possible, as I do not know yet what Chris is up to or what JC's people's instructions are. Even Emilita and Tess do not know that I am back here.

I am so depressed and I feel so lost and lack the motivation to go on at all.

I hope you are okay and all is well with you.

Kass

Dear Kass

I am glad to know you are still alive!

Please send me your phone number where you are so I can at least call you!

My mother agreed to have surgery and it went well. She reports having "no pain." Of course she is still on massive doses of pain killers, so who knows yet what the real effect is. At least she is having no pain where she used to have it!

She is now in a rigorous physical therapy program to get her walking again at the nursing home. All this emotional turmoil over my mother and wondering what happened to you has had me back in emotional turmoil!

I really do not know at this time how you will determine who you can trust over there at all! All the extra guards you had in LA, 24/7, had to be paid for by someone for sure with money!

I am sure Rudy knows about your return because Tyra has already told him. If JC is conscious he must also know of your return by now. Can you detect the bodyguards "looking after you" over there?

What are your plans to go back The Global Banner?

I miss you very much!

Sid

P.S. I was waiting until I at least heard from you before I would cancel my email stuff in Houston. All I get in my Houston email is advertising!

Oh yes! Please send the missing details when you get your head straight and settled down from the trauma.

February 12, 2003

Dear Kass

Did you send this from Theresa's house?

When I looked at the bottom of the email, I saw that this is the very email address that I sent an email to when you were in Tyra's house in LA. This was when I looked up Tyra's name, address and phone number on the Internet. And in my email to you, it contained that information. The very next day after you sent me an email using that address, "you were caught" using the computer and then they started using the laptops while you were denied access to the Internet and email. My having found Tyra's physical address must have caused panic!

Please make a new email address as I believe your email was tapped from Tyra's house and they probably have your password to the account you used above! Remember the email forwarding software that someone detected at your office's PC before you left, the same software was installed on the computer at Tyra's house I believe!

What is your new physical address now?

Sid

February 12, 2003

Dear Sid

Thank God, you have kept your Houston email address until I can contact you. I don't understand what you said about this email address being the same or whatever from the one in Tyra's house but I sent yesterday's email from Theresa's house in an old laptop she hardly uses.

Theresa has a desktop but I thought that using a "neglected" laptop would be more secure, considering the numerous email spies captured before. But I will create a new email address for our own peace of mind.

I am too groggy, from sleeping pills and allergy meds, to be able to remember right now the exact physical address of this house but I will send that to you as soon as I get that from Theresa. What I know is that this is on Mexia St.

I am directionless right now and maybe I might want to go back to work at The Global Banner. What is your advice on this? Right now, I just want to sleep and try to forget and get over the trauma of my trip in your country.

No, I have not noticed any people watching me, so far. I arrived in Bacolod early morning and I have not gone anywhere since my Doctor-Cousin came to the house for me.

Right now, I am using an old cell phone of Sonny which I hope is untapped since this has been in the dust bin for the phone has some problems like the LCD is prone to go off anytime and it eats up the battery very fast.

If you can call me, I would greatly appreciate it. I would rather use an old phone until it will be necessary for me to get a new one.

I heard Rudy and Bonnie are scheduled to go to LA but I still have to check the schedule of their departure.

Do you still have the same phone number?

I am glad that your mother has decided to have that operation and is now going into physical therapy at the nursing home. She should be on her way to being her old self as soon as she starts moving about in her walker.

It is so great to be able to email to you and get an email from you once again. I felt so lost and isolated in all the months I was trapped in Tyra's house and lost all communication means with you. I am still trying to make sense out of all that happened.

I look forward to your call.

Kass

Dear Sid

I have just created a new email address and I hope we would be able to use this much longer than the last one. I guess we are back to having to constantly change our email accounts to be one step ahead of the PC spies.

I have to get my lunch soon and I will try to get back online two hours from now. I look forward to getting a call from you.

Kass
