About the Book
Caught up in the sorrows of his origin, Makoki narrowly escapes the fatal touch of a furious tradition. One marked by abject discipline and no mercy for the falling man. A law his father so believed in, and would die before thinking of going against, comes short.
The gods of the land punish his wife for working on a sacred day. She gets really sick. Forced by the tide of events he decides to question authority which lands him into an array of torture and eventual condemnation.
The death of his mother finally comes to pass. She leaves him to the mercy of a missionary doctor (Regina) who takes him under her care. She would have to choose between risking her life or leaving the one thing she had found love in. Revenge is the most appealing thing he would think of but would not seek revenge until he becomes man enough to handle the task. The warrior later returns to set the record straight.
Reviews
"I offer a whole-hearted recommendation for Akendo Ntangku's novel, Through the Eyes of a Warrior. It is not often that an author's debut novel tells such a profound and thought-provoking story. Let's hope this is the start of a long career for Akendo."
