About the Book

A lost kitten was found in the great field by Bettypaw who was out for a walk. Bettypaw was kittenless and adopted the lost kitten who she named Alicepaw. When Bettypaw returned to the paw clan with the new kitten they all discovered that the kitten had no front claws.

As Alicepaw grew, the other kittens would tease her about not having front claws and nicknamed her Alice-No-Nails. This bothered Alicepaw until a tragic event took place in the Paw Clan that made Alicepaw very important to all in the clan due to the fact that she had no front claws.

Excerpt

The Cat Clans lived in the great field next to the pond far to the south of the city. The Cat Clans were in charge of keeping the great field neat and clean, for that is what cats to best.

There were many colonies belonging to the Cat Clans. Each family memeber contributed to the work in the great field and to the colony as a whole. The older females would watch after the kittens, while the older males told stories and kept the history of each clan alive. Mothers would do most of the cleaning of the field and tend their small kittens, while the males would hunt for food and protect the colony.
