About the Book About the Author Articles and Reviews Excerpts

About the Book

Morning Light is more than poems describing beautiful sunrises, and daylight dawning from darkness. It is about awakening the soul to its own inner light, strength and power. This inspired collection of poems is easy-to-read and understand. Each poem reminds the reader of the value of positive thought, simple beauty of life and their surroundings and how important it is to have a foundation based in love.

The magic of poetry is that it provides different messages for each reader. Poems may light a memory of something neglected or forgotten, or perhaps touch a soul with words they were unable to speak themselves.

"When Morning Light warms your heart for a fleeting moment, touches your soul in a special way, or reassures you of how important love and peace are to a happy fulfilling life, then I have accomplished my goal."

Readers' comments about Morning Light

"It is a rare poet who shows us how simple things; tears, laughter and sunsets teach us, heal us and bring us everyday joy. Yet the easy rhythm of Jean Kay's verse does just that, coaxing treasured memories out from my mind-attic and polishing them so I may remember how thrilling it is to be alive. We each need two copies of Morning Light, one for us and one for our dearest friend."

Bob Trask

"Here is a collection of especially insightful poems to inspire and lift the reader to positive, healing thoughts that invariably lead to gratefulness, joy, compassion and unity with our Creator. A treasury to keep within reach."

Excerpts

Excerpt from the poem Have Faith

A good idea has all that it needs
To prosper and to grow,
If our intentions are positive
Momentum continues to flow.

Doors may close along the way
But what we need to know
Is that they close behind us,
And they're meant to - so we can grow.

Excerpt from the poem That's Love!

Love's really what makes someone happy
That something that brings out a smile,
Those special people you share things with
Who make all your days seem worthwhile.

That's Love!
